Isn't it the earliest written language on earth? First written in cuneoform, then latter turned into a figure-like form on paper? Is much of it known? Is it possible to study it, or is it impossible to do so, or not worth trying because not enough of it is known?

It's best to work through a school with a solid Assyriology-Sumerology program (my first choice in the U.S. would be Yale University where several friends of mine studied).

But there are a few useful resources online as well as some good textbooks that have come out in recent years (in English! used to be most all of this was only available in German!) Note that these books can be rather pricey... hardly unusual for a small field.

Here are some links that might help

Yes, the Ubaids from the Mesopotamian Valley are pre-historic...At least 10,000 years old, since the last Ice Age melted 11,000 years ago...Their language is not common to any other...

Cuneiform writing (etchings on baked clay cubes) came after the great Flood of Noah more than 5,000 years ago...There is a whole science of Sumerology, like Egyptology online...Just google it...

Or google, Tales of Gilgamesh, the oldest known legendary hero that was recorded in writing (He probably really lived 6-7,000 years ago)...

I think you would have better luck under archeology, and checking at universities and museums. You are not likely to find it as a "Conversational Ancient Summerian for Business Travellers " course under languages but might find it as a subject of study in anthropology or archeology.

It is very difficult and probably not at all known in our time period. It is the first of the languages however I don't believe that many resources remain of it. Sorry if I can't help that much!.. ;)
