Sounds like his anal glands are impacted.

Many people think it is worms that causes scooting, but in the majority of cases it is the anal glands.
As the clearing of these glands is often a messy (and smelly) job, take him to the vet. They know exactly the best way, and you can ask them to show you how it is done so you can choose to do it yourself next time

Dogs indicate several problems by "scooting", or rubbing their bottom on the ground. This can indicate worm infestation, anal gland problems (prevalent in small breeds, however any dog can have problems), constipation or all of the above. Some dogs, however, just think it feels good. I would take the dog to the vet for an exam/fecal, since your question sounds like this is an abnormal behavior. Good luck!

sounds like worm infestation, though it could be a number of things.Fleas are another problem, possiably mites. Maybe hes allergic to something. If hes been rubbing for awhile..more then two weeks, id take him to the vets and you can save time by bringing with you a fresh BM from doggy.

maximum hardship-unfastened clarification for that could desire to be anal glands that are too finished and in desire of being expressed. could additionally symbolize inner parasites or yet another situation making her uncomfortable. you could desire to have it regarded at by skill of a vet- they are in a position to make it easier to recognize what the priority is and cope with it. despite if that's her anal glands, they'll could desire to be expressed generally the the remainder of her life to evade them turning out to be to be impacted and contaminated. A vet or groomer can do it, or they are in a position to show you the way, however that's disgusting and maximum human beings might particularly pay $5-$10 to have somebody do it for them whilst it needs doing.

My dog does the same thing we talked to the vet to see if anything was wrong and the vet said she was just marking her territory and cleaning her bottom but if you think its a real problem go to the vet.

nope the dog is trying to empty his anul glands.....this could be prevented by giving your dog a bath and (you need to put rubber gloves on) grab the dogs anus and kinda squeeze like youre milking a cow.....your dog will feel much better and you wont see it wiping it a/s/s on your carpet......
