Oatmeal will help you lose weight and cut down on bad cholesterol, but not in the best way.

Oatmeal, and any other grains, are diaretics. They will make you go to the bathroom much more often, which in itself can be a good thing, but not to that extent.

Oatmeal for every meal is a very poor idea. You should always eat a balanced and sensible meal and exercise to burn off the weight. Do not take away the nutrients and vitamins you get from other foods by sticking with only oatmeal. For breakfast each day, a bowl of oatmeal, an apple or an orange, a glass of low fat milk, and perhaps a slice of toast with light butter will be a good start to your day.

One more tip on weightloss...

At night, your stomach turns food into fat more than anything else because you are not burning calories while it is digesting. For this reason, eat your dinner around 6 and do not eat anything else for the remainder of the night.

Okay if you eat only one kind of food all the time you ARE going to lose weight, whether it be potatoes or steak or whatever. BUT you are NOT going to get all the vitamins and nutrients you would get with a balanced diet! Oatmeal is super good for you, yes, but you need more than oatmeal. Besides, if all you eat is oatmeal, pretty soon you are gonna have a lot of diarrhea and I'm sure you don't want that! Try the www.fittv.com website for some really sound diet advice. Good luck dear.

The best way to lose weight is to eat well balanced diet, not stick to a particular type of food. Oatmeal and bran is good 'roughage', but does not provide the level of carbohydrates the body needs for energy. This is why many people fail in dieting. They go on 'a diet', lose energy, then often overcompensate by eating the wrong foods again.

A good maxim is: "Eat well to lose weight!". This of course does not mean to over-eat, just have a well balanced diet!

The direct answer is NO.

Having said that, Oatmeal do have higher soluble fibre, so you tend to feel full with less serving.

Eating a balance diet with exercise will make you lose weight... How fast? Depends on how hard and smart you work at it.

Yes, but no. weight loss equals calories consumed-calories burned. Oatmeal just happens to not have many calories. HOwever, it is no better than any other food that has equal calories. I really dont suggest you eat just oatmeal, you wont get the nutrients and vitamins you need. Plus youll end up binging
