For example, when I'm Yahoo, Google, or virtually any website where I enter information into an input string, my computer brings up all the previous entries.

For example, if I'm searching for something on Yahoo beginning with an "s", a little drop-down list will show up, containing a list of all the things beginning with an "s" I ever entered into any text string on any website.

This feature is incredibly annoying. How do I turn it off?

Hey that is the AutoComplete option in all MS products.

go to tools- internet options- click "delete files" and delete cookies"

Next, turn off the option by going to internet options again and click on "Autocomplete" button. Uncheck the boxes.

And you ve got rid of the problem!

go to tools menu ----> internet options.

go to the content tab . click on auto complete button.

a dialog appears on that click clear forms and clear passwords

this will clear the search text etc which you have entered in any website.
