And have it actually work out!

I know it DOES HAPPEN for sure but not ever to me.
My friend went to New Zealand and married the girl he met on the internet within days of ever logging on the first time. They have been happily married 5 years already.

but for me....
5 basket cases.
quip tales of pathetic tradjedy and sadness.

the woman i went to see that was talking dirty
-when i got the front door i realized she probably couldnt fit out! (no wonder she wanted a nice romantic night inside)

the girl that stood me up after a 156 mile (one way) drive.
-casual BS excuse.

the woman i met for drinks.
-after a couple rounds she started telling me about her husband who is deployed overseas...i excused myself to the bathroom and left her with the bill.

the woman who just got through drug rehab in another state and was looking to relocate.
-sent her a bus ticket, then next month I got a call the night before she left that her friends threw her a little going away fixer and she was found near comatose and thrown into some sort of ward somewhere. two months after that she called me having just been released from jail for going on a robbery spree with her last boyfriend AND claiming she was pregnant! I am a really nice tolerant guy, but I realized, you know, I dont have to deal with this, there is little more she could do to be any less desirable at that point and we hadnt even met once yet, but I was supposed to care still.

the pinay
-every stereotype i held my mind open against painfully proved true. i went to see this girl in her home town. I had a plan to take her on a journey so she gets a vacation too. I was thinking way back in my mind to MAYBE propose to her and I had explained to her very clearly I understood the law if such extreme commitment seemed likely in both our favor. That we would just get engaged and she could piggyback me to the US in about 6 months.
But instead she had me scrap the trip at the last mintue and when I arrived was treated to her father demanding a marriage to the woman on the spot.
You know? you have a lot of ideas about someone, but still you need to be with them for many other reasons, everything else normal youre looking for in a relationship, but with the twist of also being curious to find out how much of what you already 'know' about them and carry in faith is true with the additional annoyance of time crunch peer pressures from both sides of the isle, and just the tiny things you dont get on the internet, like 'the spark' if you know what im talking about.
In the end the only thing i respect about her is she couldnt even begin to fake interest when I met her face to face. A generally honest person taking directions from the sideline. what a waste I say.

so no! its never worked out! sometimes so quick its laughable othertimes annoying, painful, and even heart renderingly disapointing.

I met my boyfriend on Myspace, it's not really a dating site but it's off the internet, and we have been together for almost a year. I'm crazy about him, he might even be the one. Just be careful if you decide to meet someone off the internet. There are a lot of crazies out there. Meet him in a very public well lit place, don't go alone, and make sure some other ppl know where your going. Just be really careful. And take things slow. Hope everything works out for you.

bleh... lol for some it works, i've heard of people having happy lives together, after meeting on dating sites but not me....

I've tried, and either i found stuck up, arrogant, or perverted guys, or the ones i thought were nice.... were lets just say, very "Lonely, sad" people...... yes they were nice, but ^_^;;; their desperation, and depressing outlook on life... there's a reason why they are sad and lonely......

well anyhoo, that's just me with my luck on dating websites............ however, I did meet my husband online ^_~ and no it wasnt from one of those.....
truth is after getting so frusterated over dating sites, and the people i hung around with in RL, i just gave up and stopped looking ...... met my husband somehow while we were downloading animes, after that chatted every day, never thought anything would happen but o.O;; a few years later and we are married lol...........

Yes, kind of, and sort of.

The only reason it did not work out. Was because my heart was not at all ready for a new relationship.
