For us, the third was a suprise. I am 38 as well. My children are 16, 9 and 6 months old! We were told after the 9 year old I couldn't have anymore. We found out different! We are loving every minute of our third and so are the other 2. Your 2 older children are at an age where they would love to help with a baby and it would teach them so much. I thank the Lord every day for our little surprise. Being 38, there is a difference between being 28 in your endurance and patienece. I appreciate him more at this age, but I tire so much easier. He will keep us young! He on't let us slow down!

With 3 you are outnumbered immediately. Life gets a bit more chaotic in the home. Things the 9 yr old will want to do will be hard with a new baby.
That all being said, my third is a joy. Kind of like, hey, I can enjoy her without the stress because the other 2 wore me down. You know there is never a right or wrong when it comes to having 2-6, boys to girls, all that. You just make it work if you love your kids. The outnumbered thing only got me a few times, during an earthquake but mostly things are fine.

Better stop with 2. A small family is always a happy family. Your time, love and affection will get shared with every child and more the number of children, less will reach each.

There will always be the middle child syndrome. There will be the older one being able to do more things than the middle one, and the younger one inevitably getting babied more than the middle one. If you can balance everyone's needs, wants, desires, and time spent together INDIVIDUALLY, then go for it. Good luck!!

As you have no financial constrain there is no harm in trying third one.
Good luck
