While I am an Atheist, I believe that guilt trippers are everywhere. not just in religion. It's obvious your mom uses guilt trips because they work. Guilt trips are a power play by those trying to hold you down. They don't have anything resembling an argument of their own so they turn to guilt as a form of manipulation. Anyone who tries to play on guilt or blind faith is always bullshitting you.

I think most mothers, from all religious and cultures, try guilt trips once in a while. They do it because they can't find the right words to use.

All parents believe that guilt trips help - and they usually do, up until the child realizes what's going on and turns the tables on them.

I think that's just a mom thing, not an exclusively Jewish thing. My mom guilt tripped me and she's a Christian.

My father does that sometimes. He is strongly orthodox.
Maybe your mother is wiser than you and only want the best for you. She is not your enemy, she is your mother and is not out to harm you.
How can you fault your mother for caring about you?
I don't know what to say to you, maybe you aren't giving the full story, so no one here can be sure how to answer.
