The answer really depends on what is causing the redness and where it appears. If your skin is very sensitive and irritated then maybe a product you are using is causing an allergic reaction or just not right for you. Try some hyrocortisone cream for two or three days just to heal (you can get it just about anywhere and the generic brand works just as well as any). Then be very particular about your moisturizer. If we are just talking about a blemish then I have heard that Visine.. yes, Visine... will help if placed on the red area. I've never tried it but it seems obvious that this is not recommended for broken, or irritated skin.

Try aloe vera leaf. Use the jelly-like substance inside the leaf as a cream. (Every home should have aloe plants, either in flower beds, or in pots indoors or on patios.) Be careful, though, to thin them out. In some places, they can become a haven for snakes.

A couple of coats of high gloss all weather paint will do the trick very well
