Is this wrong first of all. Second is there a way of doing it without paying like whats it called mail order bride. I do not want to be associated with that what i want to do is chat with someone and get to know them go visit them and they come visit me for about a year then make the choice. How do i go about doing this?

First, it is not a good idea. The cultural differences make adjustment very difficult for both you and the bride. You have to know Chinese culture very well to understand the nuances of things...I have lived here much of my life...There are customs, traditions, holidays and a different way of thinking about many things. I am as Chinese as a white man can be, and I will tell you it is an uphill climb. I do see couples, usually an American male and a Chinese wife but many of those wives chose the husband as an ends to the means...not out of love or feeling. If you want to tackle the problem....spend two or three years here and do lots of learning. I speak both Mandarin and Cantonese and a few dialects.....If you want a mail-order wife, China is not the place to look...try Vietnam.

I married a Philippine Girl. Best thing I ever did. May I suggest though that you stay away from the dating services? I had a personal introduction and a long courtship.
And to all the girls that are upset with this Idea, guess what? American women are snotty, stuck up, spoiled and nasty (with a few exceptions) ill tempered, greedy, vindictive. The list goes on and on. Why in the world would he ever want to marry one of you?

Then you have to go and meet her in person. After that you can apply for a fiance visa and bring her to the US. This is the easiest way because it is a temporary visa and easier to get. If you marry her over there it is much more complicated. Research Fiance Visa or K-1 visa requirements versus Spousal Visas.

That is fine but please be very careful. my ex husband lost a lot of money. he met a lady from Russia on line and he got scamed.
he sent her some money to come here. and he never heard from her again. a lot of these mail order bride companies are scams so be sure you do your homework first...ok. and yes...my ex chated with this lady for like 2 years.

There is nothing wrong for seeking a wife from china. Unlike most American women, they are not fat for the most part and do respect their husbands. GOOD FOR YOU AND WISH YOU LOTS OF LUCK.
