Bless your heart! Think of this as your mission field! You can be Jesus to someone, giving them a listening ear, offering to pray. I have a friend who is a volunteer chaplain at a truck stop. These truckers have a lot on their minds, and many (though some may not admit it) can really use a friend who would honestly care enough to hear them.

Look at the potential, pray about it, and see if your outlook doesn't change. I'll bet it would!

I've been in several jobs that I clearly did not want, but at the time were just simply paying my bills. Afterwards I always had to acknowledge that something good came out of it, and that I was there for a reason. Try to count your blessings. At least you do have a job, unlike many other people. Maybe in time you will see the benefit of having to be there. Who knows, you will get to know a few really cool people. Hang on in there and in the mean time, while your there, just keep on looking for a more suitable job, one that fits you better. Good luck

What does you working in a truck stop have to do with anything?

If you want a good Biblical example, think of it as your own personal 'Walk in the Desert,' your own personal test of faith or whatnot.

Note that I'm not Christian by a longshot, and think that people suffer all the time - you're no different - but I'm attempting to help in the manner in which you expressed the question.

Ever think that maybe God wants you there? That part of His plan is having you work in that enviornment? Either you are there to help someone or someone there is supposed to help you with something. When you're job is done, He will find you another job and you will move on. Have Faith, Trust in Him, and do your job with the best possible attitude.

There are some good suggestions here.

Tough it out and look for other opportunities. Have you looked into school? It's more accessible than you might think.

Don't compromise your principles. If the lonely truckdrivers are propositioning you, remind them that you're a good Christian girl, and you'll pray for them. The Lord will remind them of what's good and decent.

Ask the Holy Spirit for his will, and go with that.... there is nothing wrong /w that but, try not to let people to get u to down. Because I think if it was a good place ur heart, gut, mind, would not let u sleep good at night...

I'm sorry. Yes, I get the picture... If you cannot find another job, and have obligations just stick it out, but don't compromise your principles... Look for another job though while your toughing it out.

Stick with what you have for now and look for something you would rather do, if you look hard enough there is something out there.
