Oh, I love Boxers, they are friendly, easy to train, sweet, and very loving. They get a bit big, but that's just more of them to love. I owned a reverse brindle boxer - which meant she was black and white instead of the tans and browns. She was such a clown and so loving. But I really think that what breed you buy is a personal choice. Whatever breed you decide on - just make sure it has a good temperment and that you can afford to make sure they are taken care of well. Including vet bills and tags and such. Good luck, a dog is a great companion.

K9 refers to dogs in general (canine or phonetically kay nine). Personally I love Chinese Pugs. There fiercly loyal, good natured and very smart. Jack Russels are also a favorite but they have such a high energy rate that they need room to run. If you have room, Labs are wonderful companions as are Retreivers.

If you'd like a dog that's more aware than a man, you ought to check out border collies. They are the smartest dogs in the world with the most personality and great communication skills.

A border collie/black lab mix is larger and has a little more mellow to it.

They are intuitive to the point of telepathy and just fun to be with.

It depends on whether you are talking about a companion for watching TV, a bedroom buddy or a bar-b-que.

For TV, you want one that is satisfied with laying there and getting you an occasional beer.

For the bedroom, definitely go for short claws.

And for the Bar-B-Q, you want one with just enough fat not to dry out but not so much that the fire flares up and gets out of control.

I'm a Golden Retriver fan.. They're smart and usually very easy to train.. Friendly demeanor and just plain cute! I'm not into "purse puppies" or Paris Hilton pups so retrievers are a way to go.

I don't understand the question? If you are referring to K9 as a German Shepherd Dog, don't bother. Get a stuffed dog.

it depends if you want an outside dog, a family dog, an inside dog, an active dog?

german shepards are great in the sense that they are extremely friendly, yet good to train (great guard dogs) and are great with the family.

Labrador retrievers/golden retrievers are also good, however they are quite active and bubbly for the first couple of years, quite a handleful, but if you want an active dog they're fabulous.

Rottweilers are also good, they are good protecters if trained properly, if you love it, it will love you back and really they aren't as scary as people make them out to be.

Small dogs are good if you want an inside dog, however big dogs are good too! just depends on how you train them, and how you treat them.

My all time favorite is the Miniature Poodle. They will become protective of you and they are extraordinarily intelligent. ( smarter than some people I know)
