OH MY GOSH!!! I can't believe I found an Elvis fan in this place!

I think so...he was "The King of R'nR" so I would say that he was definitely a pioneer (amongst other things!!!)

Elvis, you mean?

If you meant Elvis Presley, then no. But the reason why he holds the King of Rock N Roll title is because he brought Rock N Roll to fame.

Like The Beatles, Elvis was inspired by African American R&B musicians from Chuck Berry and Little Richard. So Elvis was the one who put Rock N Roll to the limelight and grabbed the hearts of girls around the world with his country persona, pretty much after Jerry Lee Lewis. But if you ask who is the pioneer, I'd say its Chuck Berry.

And for the record, I'm a big fan of Elvis and The Beatles. Being the fans of these musicians made me realized their idols and the music they inspired from.

P/S: How does Elvis relates to photography, I wonder?

Elvis Presley did not pioneer rock and roll songs. He sang primarily black rhythm and blues songs, and made the genre popular to white America. Much of the music stylistically was similar or identical to the original arrangements, but his was the face and the public persona he cast with his hair and his youth and his energy made people stand up and listen. His music was influenced by black artists of the day.

he was an early member of rock and roll called rock-a-billy, Bill Haley and the Comets made what was considered the first rock and roll hit, called rock around the clock, before elvis.

Yeah, pretty much. That's why they call him the King of rock and roll. He did a lot of things that were firsts. He paved the way and set a standard for a lot of the other singers/artists out there.

No. He was just marketed better than the others.

Marketing does not equate to talent, either. Just goes to show how gullible people are.
