Yes, this is true. As a fellow human being, I would not want people to die of thirst, for any reason whatsoever. However, I think there should be a button on the water tower that they have to push, before they can drink the water, and then a large impenetrable cage then comes around them to lock them in until the border patrol get to them to arrest them. Good idea?

First of all let me clarify the situation for those that only speak from what they hear on the TV. Illegals as many call them (Its funny how we don't even call murderers, child abusers illegal but we call those that cross into the US --Misdemeanor-- Illegal), do contribute a lot into the economy. Most end up paying taxes in many forms, sales tax, many illegals own homes and pay property taxes, those that make up social security numbers or use others SSN pay taxes that they never file to get refunds. Those that buy homes will fix the borrowed SSN's credit by paying off their collections and raising their credit scores so they can by homes. By working for cheap they help reduce the price of many items that we Americans use every day. You ***** about $3/gallon gas, how about $3 cabbage, $7/lb tomatoes, how about Motel 6 raising their price to $60 a night instead of $37. The fact is working Americans are getting old and many jobs are being left open. We need new young workers.Illegals put money into SS so the older americans can have health care.
Illegals don't use the health care system as many people claim. I know many that are too scared to go to the hospital or use any public aid. They will visit clinincs and pay cash or got to Catholic charities health centers and pay cash as well. The fact is that Americans themselves are draining the health care system not illegals.
I would stop deportations and raids now!!
give a period of 6-12 months were evey illegal would have to register. Those that don't would face fines or late fees to registered upto 30 days after the grace period. Have all of them go through background checks. Those that are cleared if the can prove they have been here 7+ years and have a family would be given citizenship. 3-6 yrs given residency. Less than 3 given a work permit and have to re-apply to get it again. Guest worker program as many illegals just come to work for a few months and return. Not everyone likes it here. Deport the criminals with violent crimes. Long live the goo US citizens that have a sense of humanity. **** the rest

Yes, US humanitarian groups not only set up water stations, but also post maps in Mexico of their locations. This fits well with the publication distributed by the Mexican government with advises their citizens how to cross (illegally) into the US safely, and to also advise them of their rights while (illegally) in the US.
What sort of message does this send? I would suggest that it is the kind of message which lends itself to the entitlement mentality which has crowds of illegal aliens marching in the US and demanding their "rights".

Well, not fountains. More of a watering station. And yes it is true. The mexican government also gives them brochures and maps to guide them on their way across the border illegally.

I think the message is "stay alive".....not "welcome to our country".
I can understand why you would question it, but it's quite simple when you think of it as a 'life & death' issue.
I find it quite sad that some people would rather illegals die of heatstroke and dehydration than to spend a few bucks for water to keep them alive. I'm not saying I agree with illegals coming across the border. I'm just more against allowing them to die in the process.

Regardless of the reason they are there, hundreds of PEOPLE die every year from getting lost in the deserts along our borders. I guess you all have forgotten that we all belong to the human race. Perhaps park the bigotry and Xenophobia? We can afford to give them a drink of water before we deport them.

Yes, it is true. Some of the sites have a tower with a flag or light on it so they can find it easier.

Utterly ridiculous. I do like the idea of a cage to go with the water.
