Yes, sugar-free candies are allowed, just don't let them become a crutch, Also a tsp of sugar has only 16 calories. If U really need it, have a couple of "tic-tacs" or something. Or even better a glass of juice or a plum or some berries.

You'll get over the cravings for other foods if you have a big protein rich breakfast. That's because it takes longer to digest, and quells hunger for longer periods of time, and you can snack on other protein, low carb products. Also, there are sugar substitutes like Splenda which is made from sugar. Probably the least controversial. Used in many Atkins products.

Try diet pudding with whip cream...hardly any carbs. It helped me.

brush your teeth often with minty tooth paste.
no one likes to eat right after they brush because nothing tastes good!
