Having lost my father to lung cancer and watching what he went through, I doubt seriously if your dad would be interested in a concert right now. Treatment will most likely make him very sick and the idea of death a few months away will probably cause him to want to avoid crowds. I suggest you try to let your dad be the star right now. The family should gather round, love him, listen to him and ask if he'd like you to play a tune on the harmonica just for him. Every moment you lose with him now, will be a moment of regret when he's gone. Offer him your strong, youthful shoulder. Do everything for him, rather than for you.

That is a very good idea, and you should follow through with it. Lung Cancer is a pretty ugly thing to deal with. Lost a really good close friend with it just 30 days ago ! It is tough and it is worse because you can do nothing at all about it. Just keep him comfortable as you can and talk about the good old days with him and thank him for being your Dad and above all tell him that you love him. I lost my Mother to it also and it really hurts a lot. God bless you for doing this for your Dad it will mean a lot to him I feel sure. It is a miserable thing lung cancer and it seems to take them so quickly to.

It seems like you have good intentions. But generally people are viry timid and recluse when it comes to cancer, they usually don't want other people to know that they have it, so that others will not be stressed or burden by their pain and suffering. I don't know, your dad may not be like others and may not mind, but he will appreciate. The best way to comfort him would probably to acknowledge that he has lung cancer, but do not treat him like he has cancer. If you really want to comfort him, I would suggest you make some sort of scrapbook or photo album, in which you focus on what your father has done in his life, sort of to highlight everything that happened in his life. Remind him of what good he has done for you and your family, and if possible community, friend, etc. Show him that he has led a good and hearty life so that it may ease him knowing that he has made a difference, god forbid, that he should die early.

Man, that's your father.
Whatever you do he will appreciate it.
But what you are thinking about doing is really good and nice.
You should put out an ad for a charity concert and see if you can sign up bands and book a venue.
People will do a lot for charity and your father will love you more than ever.

Incredible idea. Be sure to have someone video tape it for you and your family for the future, as well. Hope you can carry if off, if not at the park, have someone make a cam recording and give a solo performance to your Dad.
Hope everyone will remember you and your family in our prayers.

nicely, i think of thats a beneficial thank you to assuage a soul, and truly you may deliver smiles to various faces who could attend your stay overall performance. meanwhile, on the different day, get your dad to be engaged in some pastime of his selection, an outdoors one ideally. this way, he could think of much less of his ordeal and stay a existence. for see you later, each and every of the main suitable for the stay overall performance and that i'm hoping you all have a competent one. To a parent the most important thing in life is to know they have done right by their child. Let him see this in you, whether in words, deeds or talents. Shine for him.

tell him how much you love him and how great a dad he has been to you and that is why you want to put on the concert, but tell him father to son so its more personal.
