Sandy....I like to keep it open ended, so that people may interpret as they wish. I WILL leave the question open for a few days, and you may return to answer at your leisure.

It all depends on the type of adversity.

Physical, I tend to push through the pain and deal with it.

Mental, I tend to push through the pain and deal with it.

Emotional, I tend to stumble a bit, then push through the pain and deal with it.

See a trend here? :)

I try to find a way to turn it to my advantage which is easy if someone else is the experiencer that needs help. Helping is a cool opportunity. If I am the experiencer my main thing is to control my anger and observe, record and remember. There are so many kinds it is hard to answer there is quick no time to think, there is obstinate and repititious, natural and unnatural, . One thing I think is good to remember metaphorically speeaking is keep one bullet in the chamber. Especially if the adversity is human. It is also best if you are the only one who knows for sure you still have a bullet left. Don't show your hand is another good thing to remember. If it is family then forget all that and just be straight and blend in cuz there will be a tomorrow. Wish we were all family.

hrs latter. This is the first question you asked I really did not enjoy answering, well the death seen was not great but I thought the instant realization that some thing was gone was to me insightful and contributed to my understanding of life and how transient life is.

But this question revealed something in me I guess I do not like. I really hate having to even know there is this game being played or that I get sucked into it. I guess I do not trust my friend as much as I would like to. Room for growth. I had a Dad that I felt I could not trust so that area is more difficult. The thing is I guess one loses either way when confronted with people who are part of something evil at it's core and to be honest and yet try to bring about positve results (like I am the one who knows what they are--pride-- leads to a fall--) is not something that makes me feel good cuz either way one gets dirty. Differance in opinion is easy but does the kid go back to the same home he got abused in that is adverarial and so far I have never one time seen social services do anything that tirned out good unless you control the information flow. Those are the kinds of adversity I have had to deal with and I do not think I did as well as I could have, at least if they made a decision where I just told everyone everything then I would not be the one responsible for the outcome or would I knowing full well what the consequences would be. Been there way too often. don't like thinkin about that but that is avoidance right so thanks for the push.

I guess I have been thru the mill in life with some very hard knocks, however, I have become ( I am now in my late 40's) more spiritual, have got to know who I am and if I have no emotional attachment with anyone, I do not give it a second thought, not like years ago holding hate and bitterness within.

My children 19 and 22 still press my buttons. My partner says, that I need to be stronger, showing tuff love, so I am working on it.

I'm with Sandy ouch! What kind? Spiritual? physical? Mental? Love? Money?
I guess the best I could say is..... I think. I think about every thing then I pray and that helps me to think. I think about what the problem will mean in1,5,10,15,30, years then what it will mean as fare as who I am then what it means as fare as Gods plans go usually by then I feel like it's shrunk to almost nothing. All this is of course dependent on whats going on.
What do you do?
I love "If" and Kipling! I second that thought

Typically when I am faced with adversity, my human nature takes over and I fret, worry and agonize over things. For some reason, I tend to turn to God lastly. I will remember that he promised in John 14:8 Christ said, I will not leave you desolate.

That give me great comfort. As soon as I "wise-up" and start praying to be strong and remain in God's will, this amazing comfort washes over me.

Life is full of trials. from the moment we wake up until the moment we go to sleep. Be calm, clear your mind and loOK at your problems as if each was a challenge to be over come. Ask yourself if i do this is it right(Morally)? Choose the path that you wish too follow do not falter, do not doubt in yourself and you will be ok. Peace to you SPOOKY.

Hi, Amy. This is such a big topic. Could you be a little more specific, so that I could answer? Otherwise, I'd have to write a whole lot, and I'm just not up to it at the moment. ;-)

Sometimes bad....sometimes I won't turn the other cheek and end up blowing up....I try to but sometimes it is really hard and I guess that is why we have to resist Temptation.......and that in itself IS hard
It is an everyday struggle for everyone

and for that I'm glad that Jesus has came for us all and has given me a chance to be forgiven

So far, so good. I've lost a sister, endured hard financial times, almost died giving birth, have lost five good friends to cancer and I deal with health problems every day. I know it sounds trite, but loved ones bring me through every time. I'm there for them, and they are there for me.

better as i grow as a christian, but just keep in mind God is sovereign and everything that happens is no accident, God allows things so we can depend on Him more and grow more like Christ. I would like to be able to handle it like Joseph, David, Ruth, Daniel, Abagail and many other heroes
