help, so confused?

i am a guy and i am almost 16. ive fallen for my best girl whos a friend. ive liked her for the last 2 years and its been alright. i am a sohpmore. 8th grade i really found out how chill this girl was and i started talking to a lot and by the end of the year we were pretty tight,
Then 9th grade come along. Her boyfriend cheated on her on a school retreat at a beach and at the beach bonfire, i was her shoulder to cry on. I probably could have told her my true feelings that i had fallen for her but instead i was there just to listen to her vent and be there for her. I was just being a good friend and i put my feelings for her aside to help her out.
Every since then, i have been getting deeper and deeper into this " Friends Zone". i used to be fun and outgoing around her but now i am kind of shy and boring around her. I dont get what has happened, but i think i have given up my love for her because i think deep down i know that it really will never happen.

Any advice anyone?

You can't be both. If she's crying on your shoulder when her boyfriend cheats on her, you're dead right. She doesn't see you as anything more than a friend and she won't until you give her reason to. If you cannot be happy unless you're her boyfriend you need to tell her that, and if she tells you it can't be you need to make a choice. Either you can keep being her friend in misery, putting your life on hold for her knowing it will never happen in your head but never in your heart. Or you can tell her that you're sorry and you'll miss her. Walk out of her life. don't look back. If she knows you're in love with her and she can't have you as a friend she'll have to choose if the happiness you've brought her is something she can give up on. If she chooses you it will be everything you dreamt of. If she lets you go it was never more than a dream.

It may not work, but the truth is you have to try. Nothing is more expensive than regret. Certainly not failure or even rejection.

Make a plan to show her that you care without freaking her out. If you don't scare her too much, I'll bet she's willing to give it a try. Heck, maybe she's been waiting for you to say something.

Either way, if you approach her gently and honestly, she won't be scared off by the sudden change in how you feel. Good luck.

The reason why you are now boring and shy?, it's because when we like someone we're so in our head. We become so self conscience. We start to have these wacky dialogues with ourselves... what should I do?, does she like me?, does she like him more than me?, Does she know how I feel? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhh.
We drive ourselves crazy. So stop the inner talk and ask her if she wants to hang out. You have been there for her in the past when her boyfriend cheated on her. Try saying one thing..."If you were my girlfriend, I would have never cheated on you." See what her reaction is.
Maybe now is the time. You sound like a great guy, how could she not want to be with you?

If this is your first real love, then it's understandable that you are feeling confused and a little lost. You need to let her go and find someone who will like you with as much passion as you are willing to give them. A one-way relationship is always a sorry tale. And your feelings for your friend is only flowing one way. Will she someday see the real you and sweep into your arms? Ahhhhh!!!! If only real life worked that way. Look around. You'll find many other interesting friends to spend time with and support.

If you think it's getting late then hit it now, don't let the iron get cold.
Try not to be so expectant because if a girl thinks you are her friend she really thinks that way. so make indirect approaches to get wht she feels about you. if she like you she'll definitely agree. and if not just be a friend.it does'nt hurt that much knowing you tried atleast once.
