When there are other countries threatning such as N. kor and iran who have nukes the chinese nor russians will step in!

Is it the what i would call the Padooosy affect where they dont want to get into any kind of war or conflict. Why is it everybody always expects us the AMERICAN people to do something about it yet there are many other powers that sit and wait for us to jumpm on it. Is there any country besides america that has a back bone?

There are a bunch of conflicts that never make the paper. Many 3rd world forces make up the UN forces, so that's where you see them. Much of Europe is in Haiti, the former Yugoslavia, Africa and Afghanistan. Russia can't even handle Chechnya and China's military is mostly land based and would probably defect to anywhere if sent out of the country.

Gee, let's see.... the British, perhaps! Their the only 'OTHER' military/country, that has 'our' back EVERY time we have gone out on a limb to help others. Maybe thats why their known as the 'Mother land'..LOL.

Seriously though, the Brits and the Aussy's, have been in Iraq too. And are still there, just like us! Only time you hear about it though, is when one of them die. Which is sad really. They really do deserve alittle more respect, they are fighting this war with us. Other than that.. i think everyone else, are basically cowards!

US is seen as a super power and police of the world. it started in the cold war when we promised to help any contry under the threat of communism. we are a powerful nation land of the free, people know that were powerful enough to enforce freedom it's just that not all the free people have the will power to give the very pricey gift of freedom

America does not intervene because we feel bad for the plight of other nations. We intervene to secure our vital economic and strategic resources. We started the Barabary Wars to secure pirate free shipping in the 19th Century. We went into Vietnam to prevent the spread of Communism, and to keep vital oiland rubber shipping lines open to Indonesia. We went into Panama to oust a leader that threatened our canal zone. We went into Columbia to attack drug trafficking at the source. We went into Iraq to protect our oil and our ally, Saudi Arabia. Who was our ally due to the large amounts of oil we recieve from them. America has a sphere of influence that spans the globe and we will use violence to protect our interests.

As to Chechnya, it is hard to handle a situation where all combatants are para-military and kill school children, blow up planes, and take and kill hostages.

Why don't they have a spell check for the asking portion of this system, like they do in the answer portion? It just isn't fair. It often makes the asker look bad. I am sure the asker of this question is very bright and articulate. I tell you it just is not fair!!
