4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Exactly!!! My husband is a pastor and he makes this point a lot in Bible class, saying that Adam as the spiritual head of the house was responsible, not Eve. If Adam was doing his job, he would have stopped it.

Why was Eve not dumbfounded, and why did she not flee when the serpent, surprisingly, spoke to her? The Bible does not say, but she obviously was alone or her Husband, much older, wiser and in full knowledge of the fact that animals cannot talk, would have been rightly suspicious of this strange phenomenon. It is possible that she saw the serpent at the tree, and its actions may have attracted her attention. She knew that it was a most cautious animal. So the serpent may have appeared very wise, and when it spoke it seemed to have special wisdom.

In any case, the lie spoken through this animal convinced her that she would not die upon her eating of the fruit. Instead she believed she would gain special powers—to be like God, free and independent to judge for herself what course to take. She would not be dependent upon or subject to anyone. Certainly she abandoned subjection to her husband, who had stated God’s command to her. She went ahead and took the fruit without consulting him.

That is why the apostle Paul stressed submissiveness on the part of the Christian woman. He pointed out that Eve, in thinking she was achieving absolute independence, was actually doing the very opposite and bringing the greatest trouble upon herself. She tried to do that for which she was not fitted.
Paul said: “Adam was not deceived, (becuse he later knowingly took the fruit when with her) but the woman was thoroughly deceived and came to be in transgression.”—1 Timothy 2:11-14.

Did you know there is an older story, of Adam and Lilith? Lilith was made in the same manner as Adam, but apparently he didn't like that she had a mind of her own. He asked God for a more docile mate and so, God obliged by casting Lilith out of the Garden and creating Eve from Adam's rib.

Another interesting note about this story; the Serpent had long been a symbol of the Goddess. Think about it, what could possibly threaten an all-knowing, all-powerful male God, but the Goddess?

Fascinating, huh?

Actually the bible does not tell us that Adam was right alongside with Eve. It outlines the conversation between the serpent and Eve, and then tells of how Eve offered Adam the fruit and he ate of it.

Funny, it's sort of like watching a movie over and over (i.e., Titantic) and hoping it won't hit the iceberg this time. When I go back and read of what they did, I always hope "this time" they will not hide from God, but run to Him and ask forgiveness.

Adam was Created First and Given Authority over the Creation.
Adam could of Stopped it, and Even if Eve blew-it, IF Adam hadn't followed along, Eve coulda been Redeemed.
Then we woulda never had to die.
Unless somebody Else Blew-It (ate from that Tree).

because the writers of the bible decided to make an elaborate fiction story, which describes how 2 humans fornicated to create the more than six billion inhabitants of this planet.

where was the dinosaurs?
how can the multitude of ethnic races come from 2 beings?
how can serpents talk?

its all fiction my friend, and notice how the mind of writers work, havent u notice that women are always being blamed and guilty for something

THEY are the reason for the originial sin
THEY cant become priest
THEY should be beneath man
THEY never haven a important role except for the Mary.

its hilarious that people actually believe these stories, its like if i believed in santa claus. hey why not, santa claus is a better myth anyways

Annie - wow I in basic terms study this a month in the past in bible be taught and pronounced the comparable element. I pronounced i think of Adam had to determine on (not God or Eve) yet to the two connect Eve or unfastened her because of the fact they the two did not "understand" one yet another. She observed issues in yet differently and he exchange into "separated" from her. i think of he decide directly to consume it to be along with her too. that's whilst my chum pronounced "Then females are extra effectual then they comprehend." fairly, the 2d "Eve" Mary. She thinks adult males attempt to overshadow this. although, because of this potential God placed a disadvantage on Eve."your urge would be on your husband and he would be your grasp." Sucks. relatively it is not our fault Adam would desire to purely have selected to not consume the dang fruit!
