You have several points. It is not true that God does not reward good works, He does. He also loves praise, He inhabits the praises of His people. And yes, if you deny God, you will go to the lake of fire after judgment, a seriously bad place to end up. God has no ego.....and it's your choice what to believe about all these things.

Perhaps you might think of it this way. What if you were nvited by Donald Trump ito the biggest party of all time? You got the invitation then said to yourself; "I have never met this person, therefore they must not exist and invited or not I will not attend."
Are you being punished for not attending, no your punishment would be missing the party. Are you being punished for not believing in Jesus Christ?... No, your punishment is your unbelief.

Well that sure sounds like what many believers believe....personally I find that sad and it couldn't be farther from the truth were a god to exist. If it did exist, then wouldn't it be above human things like ego? Wouldn't it be more likely to be please with people living and helping each other in a good life and world...?

No, He does reward us for being good; once we are Christians, we are to do good deeds. Better to be a faithful servant than an unfaithful servant.
God isn't an egoist; He doesn't demand praise and worship from us. He gives us a choice to do so. It's called "free will."

...no.
If I had created the entire world, every soul, every angel, every tiny little thing... I would want praise as well. And I would be upset at people who denied my existance.
He has done so much just to bring us here and so much to help us fix our lifes even though over half the time we mess them up ourselves, he deserves much more praise then we can ever give him. But he doesn't ask for more then we can give.

totally. another of example of the HUMAN ego. that we want god to FEEL like us. we place human attributes in something which is beyond any of our comprehension. we think god will get mad if we dont go to church every sunday, such a silly thought. Humans placed an ego on god which derived from their own self ego to be divine like god, thus "god made man in the image of him" take a look at that fine line of fiction. people are delusional nowadays :(
