Why is it that whenever the word 'homosexual' is brought up as a sin, that *some* people say that Christians *hate* gays, *even* when that opinion isn't the case? Why do they automaticly associate the verbs 'hate', with 'sin'?

I tell ya, I wish I knew the answer to that one! Over & over I hear people say, "all Christians are judgmental," and I have yet to meet one such! So we are judgmental even when we don't judge; we're hateful even when we don't hate... My best guess is that *some* people mistake our motivation against sin for a more general (and totally untrue) hostility against the sinners themselves. And of course there are those who believe the cr*p they're told about Christianity by others.

Christians have that thing they like to say about "hating the sin, but not the sinner". That's all rhetoric. They're really just saying that the other person is wrong for being a homosexual. And I don't feel threatened that Christians think homosexuality is a sin, although I do think they sound idiotic saying that.

Because the view of the fundamentalist, and the conservative, Christians brings so much harm to both gays and straights. Also, the bible never mentions the word homosexual. Jesus never spoke out against homosexuality and did speak in favor of love. The view of "homosexuality as sin" does in fact generate hate in this world. Additionally, many Christians and non-Christians feel sorry for those who have not learned love and compassion.

Sure, we know that Christians say "hate the sin, love the sinner." But they do nothing of the kind with respect to homosexuals. When Christians love homosexuals enough to allow them equal rights, then we can believe that they really are just hating the "sin".

Let me be clear: I think many Christians really do loathe homosexuals and want them to be discriminated against. The use of the word "sin" allows them to hide their hate behind supposedly more respectable language.

I'm trying to be a christian, but I don't hate gays. From where I sit it appears that God created gay people. I think God hates people who indulge in rape and that's what the whole Sodom and gommora business was all about.

Jesus teaches us to forgive and turn the other cheek. I don't feel I need to turn the other cheek with gays because I don't see what they are doing as wrong. Christians who say they hate gays are spitting in the face of Jesus and God.

Hell is going to be full of so-called good Christians.

*Sigh*

Because historically the Christians persecuted homosexuals even though some of them were secretly homosexual themselves.

because u use it daily in ur vocabulary to describe something which goes agaisnt the christian faith. like an example which ive seen recently:

atheist: i dont believe in god

christian: stop living in the sin of atheism and start seeing the truth that jesus died on the cross for you, and the devil/ demons are influencing you to not believe in god. abandon ur hate and evil ways and join the light. Praise the lord almighty!

not an atheist between, just giving an example.

I don't necessarily feel non-Christians feel threatened. But I don't think it's Christians place to judge other people. You have the right to have your beliefs and live the lifestyle you wish. Be courteous and afford other people the same right.

Xians want gays to not get married, not adopt, not have rights to property, etc.. You can use semantics all you want, hate is fine with me. Just tell them to leave people the hell alone.

If you can't love gays, Christians, please don't hurt them with your bigotry. To deny them their rights is to do them harm.
