It changes the pressure inside the bottle helping to change where the suction is taking it away from the seal on the jar lid. Hope this helps.

it preps your muscles its like stretching for jar opening.

actually the air is forced to the top of the bottle/jar and creates less pressure on the lid

I actually use this method and I suspect it forces the air up to help break the seal...

But I don't know for sure so I'm going to be watching this one. Good question!

i was told that it releases the suction and lets the cap open easier, funny thing is that it works too.
