those jobs are not easy to do so i understand anyone who doesn't want to do those jobs . i also find not logic in how is it that they live saying they would do it for reasonable wages but don't even show up to see whether or not they could make it .
the tough immigration laws are already causing millions and will cause even more if the representatives do not start using logic .
the latest statics say that American are getting fatter because of the price of the vegetable so just think in how will more expensive groceries affect even more .
what the republicans propose does not make any sense .
there is only one good thing about this and that is ELMO :P

Alberto, don't believe everything you see or hear on American news stations. All stations only allow the type of news on their station that reflects the political beliefs of the people who own the corporations that own the stations. Stations owned by left leaning liberals like the Democrats will have more liberal points of view. Those owned by conservatives like the Republicans will have more conservative points of view.
There does definitely need to be better security at the Canadian border into the USA. The reason people in the US are discussing putting up a fence on the Mexican border is because that is the border over which the majority of illegal aliens are coming into the USA.
I too want people to enter the US legally. It is a sad situation when people leave their own South American countries to come to the US because they are poor and can't take care of their families, or have so little opportunity to succeed financially in their own country. Many people come here and earn money, then send their money back to their family members in their own country. When they do this, it does not help many US businesses because there are fewer people spending money in US stores.
Illegal alliens work for whatever wages they can get in the USA because it is so much more than they would receive in their own country for the same work. The unfortunate side effect of doing that is that wages remain artificially deflated in the USA. After all, employers will pay the cheapest wages they can in order to increase their own income. It ends up affecting the US economy in a negative way... meaning fewer jobs available for legal residents, and less income for many businesses.
So you see it is not just a matter of not wanting people to come over the border. If a person comes to the USA intending to make this their home and becomes a citizen, their family members will likely follow them and their money will be spent in the USA, which would be good for the economy. Their taxes would be paid to the US government and the country as a whole would benefit.
Personally I think most South Americans are hard working, decent people with a good work ethic, and good family and religious values. Most are the kind of people who make good neighbors anywhere in the USA.
The USA is built on the belief that the rule of law should prevail in a free society. Employment laws in the US are often disobeyed by some employers who hire illegal aliens. If laws are broken without regard for the law, we have chaos until laws are once again enforced. US citizens are now urging law makers and officers of the law to enforce existing laws.

Because it's true.... Ask people like dry wall hangers that no longer have a job because the illegals work at 1/2 wage or less. Or many other construction jobs. And as far as that stupid idea that they only do "jobs that Americans won't do" .... this year both California and Florida were short of farm workers... apparently the illegals don't want those jobs either.

Don't believe everything you read or hear on the news. The majority of it is all propaganda, no matter how reputable the news station.
I, as well as plenty of other LEGAL citizens would gladly work a job that many find disgusting as long as I could live off the wages.

Good point! They are paying more now and people still dont want to work those jobs. I am not close to any orchards, or I might think about it. THere is one orchard about an hour away in Illinois...where you go with your children and pick apples or pumpkins yourself them buy them...it is kinda fun...but you are only picking enough for you.

your right some illegals are out there are banking bringing in serious money and a lot of them bring it in tax free and we want to put a end to that not all of them are working for low wages either way illegal immigration is screwing up the working class and soon will screw up more previously higher paying jobs
