After 30 years of marriage you feel like you just want to kick back and concentrate on yourself and that is the way it should be. I was married 30 years also and remarried 3 years later and was very happy, then my husband died and I could not even think of replacing him with anyone else. I lived single for almost 8 years. I liked being on my own and not having to answer to anyone. The freedom you feel is beyond words...then about 2 years ago I fell in love again. I have to say that after that time alone and on my own it has not been easy to get back to being with someone and having to consider another person on a day to day bases. I think that if I had not met him then I would be just fine by my self. If I can do it, so can you. You may think you will be alone for the rest of your life, but you never know what life has in store for you later.
Just relax and enjoy the freedom you have right now and know that it is perfectly fine. God be with you

Of course it is possible! If you don't want another relationship then getting into one is non productive and prone to failure. Do your own thing now. Marriage does not have to be for everyone. If you had children from your 30 year marriage, I do ask you to keep them in your life as well as grandchildren!

Yes, it is possible for a person to be happily single for the rest of their lives.

Yes you can be happy, being alone, i have been divorced now for 11 years, and i live alone, all i have is great friends. And look at it this way you don't have to tell any one your going out, that is the best part of being alone, and most of all hold your Head up high, and be happy. Good luck.

people underestimate being single so much. some of the best times of my life, i've been single. personally i've decided that i want a partner, but i do still enjoy my personal free time. i strongly believe it's up to the individual. the same thing goes for having kids or not having kids. i say if you feel like something's missing, try to enjoy single life and look for a WORTHY partner if you want one. but some people enjoy being single so much they just stay that way.

I'm sure it's possible and you seem to be in the perfect situation to give it a try. Being single doesn't have to mean being alone. Who knows what your future will bring? As long as you're happy.

Well you know, my mom divorced my dad 9 years ago, my dad died 2 years ago. Since their divorce my mom hasn´t even considered dating other men. Se takes her care of her and of us but of course we (her children) are always looking out for her, taking her out to dinner of to get coffe, etc. So I guess you could saty single but if a perosn who really likes you and has really good intention in mind for you comes along don´t shut the door and give yourself a chance we all deserve second chances in life.

It is possible but very difficult. As it is said that "men is a social animal" therefor it is realy hard to live alone.
I will suggest to find a new partner for yourself.

(maybe though. idk) just be sure you dont want another relationship because you still like your spouse. otherwise its fine! you went without a gf or bf at age 5 why cant you now?

It depends, if that is what you want!!! You have to learen how to put yourself first for a change, it will be difficult at first. Why don't you get yourself a dog??? Dogs can be very good company. And they don't demand too much of you!!! Good Luck.
