How many of you have honestly read the Bible front to back, truly studied it, to come to your conclusion that it is not true?

Let me say, there is a God. There is a judgement when you die.

I just have a simple and odd question. They do not talk about dinosauars or cavemen in the bible. If god created all, and started with adam and eve.....was dinosaurs in the noah's ark? was cavemen another species that did not "evolve" into us humans today. Because logically, there is proof (fossils) of dinosauars and cavemen. Unless Adam and Eve looks like cavemen people...but Christians do not believe in evolution.

I think the old testiment maybe all true (followed by Jews, Christians), but the new testiment (just Christians) is written by people who want what they want the bible to be.

Anyway....so called Christians, Catholics, ...etc...are bunch of hypocrites and sex offenders. Yeah, get divorce, murders, adultery, rapes, steal, and good ole Jesus already died for your sins. HOW CONVENIENT!!! Sounds like a simple and easy religion to follow. You are all still going to hell.

I have read some of the Bible. Pretty dry and boring stuff, pompous, arrogant, dictatorial and authoritarian. It cannot stand up to scrutiny and the Bible demands as a precedent that you take every word in it as "true." My question to you is, how can you read that dated mindwash and nod your head in agreement with all the tenets contained therein? You approve of stoning, for example? No, of course not. But you cherry pick the stuff you like and simply suspend disbelief at the logical absurdities, which the Bible has no small measure of. I don't understand how you could ask this question. Somewhere in there you had this profound revelation that the myth is real? You sure give short shrift to all the deities that preceded Jehovah, Yahweh, or whatever you call this god-du-jour. I believe the Christian god had his roots in Baal. But you wouldn't know about that, would you? Guess you never studied that particular ancient belief, so I guess you haven't studied all the mythical possibilities either.

Kudos to duck_phup.

didn't say there isn't some truth to it but if you you have read the bible front to back you would also know that a lot of the stories in it also mirrors the Greek Mythology as was as Roman and Norse. Also if you take a closer look at the new testament many of the stories are the same but told through the eyes of different people so as any good story facts get lost or removed therefor making it as any history book- flawed

I think most atheists would say that they read the Bible from the beginning until they came to something that was obviously false or exaggerated, then put the book down... and they didn't have to read very long to get to that point.

I'm not an atheist -- but I sure wish that someone would rewrite the Bible leaving out all the contradictions and exaggerated stuff.

I have not read it front to back, I couldn't get through Numbers, holy cow.

I have studied enough of it to know that there are contradictions. I don't care how many people tell me I'm taking things out of context, the OT has hundreds of verses of god either slaughtering or commanding the slaughter of millions of people. Then Jesus says turn the other cheek. LOL, a little late for that.

It's kind of funny because the same could be asked to Christians regarding scriptures of other religions. How many Christians have read the Satanic Bible eh eh?

Honestly, have you really studied Evolution and updates? Sure, I read some of it...didn't make no sense. The stars made the heavier elements, which make us. The universe is old...very very old, and large, very very large. Not at all like the Bible describes.

The bible was written by man, so was the quaran and torah. The gospels were written about one hundred years after the death of Jesus by people who never met him and nearly all of them conflict on major details. Men actually voted on what to include and what to not put in the bible. I don't want to insult anybodys religion but religion is the most widely abused drug in the world.

I think it is not a question of it being false .but that of it being mistranslated mis interpreted some parts omitted some additions put in later it's been around for 2000 years or more and alot can happen to history in that time, the hand of man always seems to put his foot in it some where along the way

What difference does it make? If I say yes, it will not matter to you, you will assume that I read it incorrectly.
What would you think if I did read and study it, and still came to the conclusion that it is not true?
