ok theres this guy at school that told me today that he likes me more than a friend, how can i tell him i only want to be friends without saying anything stupid to make him hate me or hurt him?

You just have to open to tell him that what you feel. You feel that he just like friend not a "boy friend". You can tell him how you respect him for his intelligence, his compassion, his support and you do not want to looose it.
You can also tell him that you already have a relationship with other person and happy in that.
But you respect his friendship..
I am sure that he shall understand and might be upset for some time but he shall grow over it.

You could use the old "i'm not ready for a relationship right yet" routine if you've never gone out with anybody before, or you could use "I'm still getting over my last relationship, I don't think I'm ready yet" if you have. Any way you put it though, your friendship is never going to be the same again. Isn't it odd that if you like someone and then don't like someone back, the next reaction you have is dislike? Ah well...

I've been in the same situation. Dont beat around the bush and keep him guessing, just explain to him that you like him only as friends. He'll most likely understand and move on, but dont lead him on because thats most likely hurting him just as much as telling him your not interested.

I noticed you said you only want to "be" friends, not "stay" friends. Sounds like this relationship he's dreamed up went from casual to sexual in too short a time. He really wasn't even that much of a friend was he? You know what he wants. Do your self and all other girls a favor and don't be nice about this. Tell him flat out, your not a whore and don't like the implication.

just like that. be completely honest with him and tell him that you really only see him as a friend and nothing more. then also make sure you don't flirt with him or do anything to lead him on. he may be upset for awhile but he'll get over it with time.

Tell him how you feel but, do it in a nice way so not to hurt his feeling. He will most likely be hurt a little but it is better you tell so, he can move on.

you tell him, look .......(name) your a really sweet guy and i know you have good intentions but I don't want to be more than friends because if i date you then our friendship will be ruined and when we split up there is a 99% chance that we won't be friends anymore! i'm sorry if i hurt you but i think that is the best way to go!
