Like 5 minute meditations, and the like. Feeling a bit disconnected lately and need to find a little encouragement from within...

Christians--please don't tell me to pray more, I am just not the praying type. I talk to my God all the time. Just needing something a little more focused.

I'm a wicca with a 2 yr old and have a hard time doing anything without interruption... so I'm a little rattled, and trying to find ways of weaving my spiritual life into my daily life w/o casting circles and rituals...

I have learned to "Pray constantly"; that is, I can tune into Spirit throughout the day, sort of back and forth "between" ego and truth. Since ego is illusion, I can tell it to get behind me, and I give my attention to truth.
Like anything else, it takes practice, but I can "hear" the still small voice...for instance, when I look through this Yahoo Answers, I might want to respond to a particular question, but the voice says "No". Then I find one later and I know it is the right one.
If you feel disconnected, focus on the truth that you cannot really be disconnected...the length of time does not matter...it is the quality and your learning that you are eternally "connected". Think of all the ways life around you is connected, and know you are the framer of the world you see...thus, you are One Self. You cannot be but forever connected, and more.

Try creating a very clear ritual space. Once you've built that up over time, it will make the transition from 'profane' to 'divine' states of consciousness much easier (if you make any such distinction). Meditation to a point of gnosis could give you that sort of deep connection. But the defining theme around mystics is their continuous and tangible acknowledgement of the divine presence: in every part of their lives.
Creating a ritual space need not be time consuming. A particular invokation, or the simplest casting could be effective. A quick way of entering a light trace is treading a labyrinth, even one laid out with chalk or pieces of string. Many simple designs are available on the net: it's also said to be therapeutic and is, of course, highly symbolic.

When you've got small children, it is hard to find the time and the right state of mind to become centered. I like meditation, but I have to do it when the kids are asleep. I also do a lot of Light work. That helps. Sometimes even just getting outside can do the trick, especially if I can be walking them in a stroller or something.

I think theres 2 parts here... and that they are connected but distinct.
I'd say to try to practice some of the more "direct" energy "stuff" that is tapping into and grounding psychically rather than magically,
and then once having that, to work on maintaining an awareness, at least in the back of your mind of energy flows and such, to draw upon with a more casual basis.
I duno if it'll work for you or how you see things, but its what comes to mind as a suggestion.

sounds like enough time .but feeling disconnected after wards.
did you ground your self properly before starting or disconnect the grounding completely after finishing that would account for it.
