Your local animal shelter is a first stop, then a local breed rescue. Most shelters will put you on a waiting list if you are looking for a specific type of dog. Steer clear of places like puppy find. It's loaded with bad back yard breeders and puppy mills. Also, most of them want to sell you a pup (with no guarantees) not give you one.

I suggest that you look for a rescue sight where they rescue the type of dog you are interested in. There are a lot of rescue sights for all types of dogs, and, these dogs need homes desperately. My husband and I have rescued three dogs. The last one we got from a cocker rescue sight on the internet. He has turned out to be a wonderful addition to our family.
Good luck to you in finding another dog.

Squirttle_bunny gave you GOOD advice. Never "buy" a dog; adopt one instead. Never hand your money to anyone who will "sell" you a dog. Go to the SPCA or your local animal shelter, and avoid purebred dogs like the plague! Mixed-breed dogs, or mutts, are healthier, happier, smarter, friendlier, more even-tempered, and longer-lived than purebreds, and they are immune to inbreeding defects (which many purebreds have, but which don't show up in a first inspection). And shelter dogs never forget that you rescued them!

I have searched the web but all the Free puppies have a huge price tag. Have you tried your local paper and ask if they have a free classified ad section that will allow you to offer a home to a free small animal? good luck..

you can call your local animal shelters like spca, and humane society and leave your name and number and request a yorkie. it would be the cheapest way to get one. or place an ad in the local bargain shopper paper to give good home to unwanted youkie. it will happen faster if you would be willing to take an older dog that needs a home. :)

canines tags sell at regularly any puppy furnish shop for all sizes. you will locate them at Petsmart, puppy Co, your Vet, your groomer, everywhere truly. they many times are available all sizes and designs. yet once you need an exceptionally small one, then i could pass with the 1st answerer; a cat tag.

my suggestion would be to go to the local shelter and get a dog from there. Steer clear of puppy mills and petshops. Be wary of purchasing a dog online without seeing it.
