Your question is a bit flawed. Christians have an obligation to convert others because they believe that those who have not accepted Jesus as their lord and savior, and who have not been baptized are basically going to hell. So, if you know that you could save someone by converting them wouldn't you? It's their duty. They would be fulfilled if they converted everyone to Christianity; not disappointed because they didn't have a "job" anymore.

No, I don't need you.
Would it be good if the whole world became Christian? Yes, it really would. Do I believe it will happen prior to Christ's return? No.
Part of my duty is, indeed, to spread the word. If there were no one left to spread it to, then my obligations will have been met. I have other obligations as well, so one's ending will not complete my responsibilities in all areas.

I am not Christian but my understanding of the concept of spreading the word isn't all about converting people over to Christianity. I think spreading the word is more just spreading Christ conciousness... love for all people, love for mankind, love for our planet and an appreciation of life. You don't need another human being to agree with you to do any of that...

lol I have never thought it my duty to convert others to Christianity. Spread the word? I'm better at spreading the jam lol, I just try my best to let others see God through me and let Him take it from there.

It's impossible for one group to convert the world. In the bible, as I have read certain parts over and over, doesn't say anything about converting people, just merely spreading the word to make sure people know. To make sure that they know who is is and the things he has done for us, so if they want to, its completely their decision, to be born again in cristianity. But technically its not our job to convert the world-- just telling our friends and close people and making sure the people in our everyday lives have their possibilities open.

it's really even more simple than that. in order to have an exclusivity club you must have someone to exclude. Christian heaven is an exclusivity club and if just any one could get in it wouldn't be very special, now would it. so you gotta join the club or you're excluded. so there! neener neener! go to hell!
(of course all religions have simular membership requirements)

God's goal is that everybody would believe in Him. If everybody believed than we as a whole would have much much much much much more spiratual power; and we would probably already be on one of the other planets by now.

I'm not commanded to see you converted to Christianity. Once you have heard, you're on your own. I only have to help if you ask and I can. I am only commanded to spread the Good News, not to harvest it.
