if you have the property and your local laws allow it, you can begin by burying your dog, or call your veterinarian for help in either cremation, or referral to a pet cemetary.
but most importantly, let your beloved pet go in the most dignified way you can, cherish the memories, and be glad for the time you've had together.

Well darling, first of all you should say your final fare-well to your dog. (Hold a memorial service)..and then put him to rest. Only then you can move forward in your life and perhaps....you could go and adopt a new friend....and that should be the first step for your healing process. (that's only if you loved your deceased dog!)

Call your vet and he can dispose of your pets remains.
If you can't afford vet, drop off in front of ASPCA in your area at night- some have cubicles meant for living animals but will keep your pet safe until staff finds remains in the morning.

to help me with the grief I clipped a lock of my dog's fur for a keepsake, and made a pawprint with clay. I wrote down everthing special about her and put it in a memory book with her photos. I had her buried in my back yard with her favorite bandanna, blanket, and toy. My husband helped me. Bless you.

Depends, you can wrap him up and bury him (check local laws, some have restrictions on handling of carcasses) or you can take them to most vets and they can send them out to be cremated

Why did it die?
You need to bury it.
There are many grief counseling groups and pet groups on Yahoo Groups.

I agree, call a vet. If it was really important to you, try burying him on your back yard, we did that with our dog.
