That is if you are doing it the healthy way. They say taht anything over 5lbs a week is unhealthy. I know what i'm about to say sucks but, running a mile won't do much for you. A mile only takes about 7-10 minutes to accomplish at a steady pace. What you could try and work up to is a fartlek run. This is when you run a certain distance, stop, do an exercise such as jumping jacks or push ups or sit ups and then you get up and run again and so on and so on. This burns more calories but it does get you tired A LOT faster if you do it right.
