I had H.Pylori a few years ago. It's very possible that one of the antibiotics is making her sick, especially if one of them is Biaxin. Biaxin is one of those meds that causes serious stomach upset, so much to the point that a lot of people can't handle it. I was one of them. I had to be put on a different regimen of antibiotics b/c of it, but I did get better. Hope she feels better soon.

Oh, and you might want to tell her to request an endoscopy (where they put the tube down your throat to look at your stomach with a tiny camera). That is how my gastritis was discovered, which evidentally can accompany H.Pylori in a lot of cases.

Helicobacter pylori is associated with a majority of ulcers, especially in the intestine. Your niece sounds a bit young for this, typically, but it's not impossible. Really, she should have a biopsy done via scope to have an official diagnosis, although the breath test is ok. She should be on triple therapy if she really has this. It consists of two antibiotics and pepto bismol usually.
Anorexia is a completely different disorder associated with avoiding food and usually exercising excessively. It is NOT characterized by episodes of vomiting (that's more typically bulimia). Someone needs to determine if your niece has an actual eating disorder or a medical problem such as an ulcer (which does not typically present with vomiting). A 39 pound weight loss in anyone in this time period without actually trying is very worrisome. Very. I highly advise you get a new doctor.

I was diagnosed With HP . I complain to my Dr about burning in my stomach area (around the solar plexis area) He told me that in the old days it was falsely diagnosed as ulcers, but a blood test can identify if HP is present. In any event he put me on a 2 week regimen of 3 different pills(one of which was antibiotics) and now I am ok. It would seem as if both doctors may be right. I say seek a third opinion. Good Luck

Heliobacter pylori is the root cause of ulcers. Ulcers can make the stomach easily unsettled. So yes, the bacteria could possibly be responsible, but more than likely in an indirect way.

if she tested positive for helicobacter the antibiotics will cure that. However she could still be throwing up from a number of possible things. Is the doctor aware that she is still sick?

Salt causes bloating and butter is elevated in calories, so flavor pasta, a pot of soup, meat, and stews with clean herbs, garlic, and onions rather.

Choose wet snacks such as melon, peppers, cherry tomatoes, or even celery. Their water content will fill you up and stop bloating.
