As far as basic training (or bootcamp) goes the hardest is the Marine Corps
Then the Army
Then the Navy
Then the Airforce
I was in the Army, my dad was in the Marines, a good friend of mine was in the Navy, and another friend was in the AF. They all agree with the above statement.
However training after basic/boot varies depending on your MOS.
SF/SEALs/Rangers/Force Recon/etc... all have very tough training and it is debated on which is the toughest. I happen to be partial to Rangers and so my own bias will influence my answer to that question.

Are you for real? The Marines are a lot harder. Boot Camp is considerably longer and considerably harder both physically and mentally. Once your in the fleet The Marines is more demanding physically as well as more disciplined. Not to say the Navy doesn't do a good job because they do; but they are no where near as physically fit or as disciplined as Marines. As a Marine I was stationed on Navy and Marine bases and by far Marines are held to a higher standard in conduct, appearance, discipline and obedience to order.
Kevin has no clue what he's talkin about. Marines can be stationed on a Naval base or a Sailor on a Marine base but they are distinct entities. Marines is a Department of the Navy but they are wholly separate. Lots of cooperation but your either a Marine or a sailor

Hard how? From a physical aspect, they can both be very demanding. If you're a Navy Corpsman, you actually can serve in the Marine Corps as well... so you have the best of both worlds!
Generally, the Marine Corps is a much more physical experience. However, the US Navy also has its challenges with long periods away from home that take a lot of mental discipline.
As well, one other person was correct when they spoke about Navy SEALs. SEALs are some of the fiercest warriors on the planet. Rescue Divers are also in incredible condition.

Marines. Because they are the Marines. If you are a Marine, this is a perfectly good explanation of why the Marines are harder.
Kevin below has no idea what he is saying. A Marine is not in the Navy. Some Marines may serve on naval ships, but the Corps is its own branch of the armed forces.

basically the navy and the marines are together. so there both the same. so it would be lik u joined the navy so now ur a marine. i know this because my brother is a marine and he is in the navy. its tough training. u hav to run 5 miles in 30 minutes. and in the middle of the navy training they only giv u one meal a day. a lot of people fail.

I am an Army vet, but from the experience I have seen from the other branches, Marines are about the toughest. History alone will tell you about WWII and Iwo Jima and the island by island fighting that took place. Yeah, there are lots of good men and women from each branch, but the Marines are trained specifically to kill. Very disciplined.

The Marines put out the toughest fighting soldiers in the world, so I think its more work but its worth it.

Marines. The nature of their job is more demanding, so the training is consequently more rigorous.
