Because they forget that they are only supposed to be keeping the words and acts of Jesus whole and pure until the Jews accept that Jesus was their true messiah.
Also they would have to dismantle the current system as they took in parts of other religions into their rites and rituals besides the Jewish ones.

Pagan Copycat Theories in a Nutshell
James Patrick Holding
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In most churches, anyone who said that Christianity copied from pagan religions would get an answer in the form of being whomped repeatedly by little old ladies with an umbrella. As it happens that's an equitable response. Why?
What kind of claims are out there? Everything from that the figure and story of Jesus was stolen from the profiles of pagan gods, to that rituals like the Lord's Supper were imitations of pagan meals.
Which gods? Gods you don't hear much about these days: Mithra, Dionysus, Attis and Osiris seems to be the main examples used.
What's the main problem with this? Three flaws are typical:
The information about the pagan god or ritual is either well past the time of Jesus (so if there was any "copying" it was the other way around);
The information is just plain wrong;
The information is stretched waaaaay out into oblivion to create a parallel where there really isn't one.
Who promotes this, er, junk? No one with any serious or relevant credentials. Joseph Campbell comes closest of any credentialed scholar to saying such things, but even he tried to explain it as some sort of psychological phenomenon, not as Christians stealing ideas from pagans. Even the leading atheist website tends to take a dim view of these ideas. Maybe one exception: A guy who is also a member of the Jesus Seminar, which will tell you enough about the credibility of this sort of thesis; and he's critical of other people who promote it as well.

For the same reason that atheists can’t look beyond their own little myth to see that those that have religion see the light. In other words they know they are right.

The fact is that many Christians have had personal experiences with God and we know that you don't know what you're talking about. No matter how intelligent you try to make it sound, your ignorance is very, very obvious. Why would we ignore our own life experiences because someone (you) who knows nothing about them tries to make fun of them?
Your lack of understanding means nothing compared to our experiences. It would be as foolish as if we were to try to convince you that your memories were only myths. How would you respond to that?

What the heck are you talking abou?
If you think the Bible is a myth,it is your loss not mine. Leave the Bible alone if you do not believe in it. If you are talking about (Armageddon) the final battle between Satan,and his army,and Jesus and his army,then I would suggest if your going to talk about the Bible
YOU SHOULD LEARN WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT FIRST.On that note (enough said).

probably because it's their religion. hence they work on faith like they're supposed to, which is what makes religion difficult in the first place. while I may disaggree with other religions, I don't actively seek out to prove them wrong, downgrade them, or belittle them.
