I told my best friend about the guy that I liked because I tell my best friend almost everything. And I told him that I didn't think I had a chance with him. I'm pretty, though. Just so you guys know that that's not what I mean when I said "i didn't stand a chance" with the guy. Well I told my best friend and I said, "but I'm not pretty enough" and my best friend was like "you're pretty" and I was like "but I'm not like pretty, pretty" What I meant was pretty enough for the guy I like. And he said "Yes you are..you're pretty,pretty,pretty,pretty...... looking at you right now" and I got really shy because he was staring at me so I just looked down. And then this one day, he told me "you're beautiful with, or without make up...in a friendly way"...
but then he had confessed to me during the summer that he liked me when we first met but i was so sure that he didn't like me anymore since it had been so long and we became such good friends ...how would you guys take comments like these?

i think he still likes you, and im usually right about these things. lol there were these two kids on my bus, and they always sat with eachother, and they were neighbors, and i could just pick up signals that they liked eachother, even though theyve been friends since they were little.
why do you put urself down and say that ur not pretty enough for a GUY?
NEVER put urself down as being ugly or not good enough for a guy! YOU are too good for him. dont think like that.
i think you should refocus your attention on your best friend (hes a guy, and he notices all of the little things that you do, AND he thinks you're beautiful.). usually the most important thing/person is standing right in front of our face, but we just cant see it.
who cares about that guy. how do you feel about ur best friend? is it mutual?
talk to him.
good luck hun, hope this helps!! :)

I've been in this situation before. I used to like my best female friend. I got over her and then a year later started liking her again. But we had a talk and I'm over her again as we realized we're too close friends so we don't want to risk the friendship. The best boyfriend material are friends first then boyfriends. What your friend is saying is don't beat yourself up. From what he knows not only of what you are outside but also of what you are inside, you are a great person. You have a chance. As a best friend, he will do whatever he can to help you out as well as boost your self confidence. There's a small chance that he still might like you but as a best friend, he can't let you get away with saying bad things about yourself. If he truly liked you, then he would want whatever makes you the happiest. And if this other guy is the thing that would make you most happy, he'll support you and he'll be there still if things don't work out. Good luck.

Most straight men that say they like or are atracted to a woman will perpetrate being friends as a means to get to the next step in the relationship. If he's saying stuff like this then he is definitely still interested. Has he dated any other women that you know of? I f the answer is no, well then you have your confirmation. If the answer is yes he has dated other women, has the dating lead to any committed relationship/s? I think you already know the answer. Men and women can be friends or friends with benefits, but once a statement of atraction is made all bets are off.

I noticed you said that he said "In a friendly way" to me that sends up a red flag that he was saying - as friends. I think he is trying to tell you not to have a bad self image and convence you that you are pretty. It is hard to hear a friend put themselves down, especially when what they see in the mirror is not what everyone else sees. Best of luck.

Well first of all since this friend of yours like you, he is telling you that your pretty, pretty for him, the question is how do you feel about Mr. friend outside of friends . If its only friends on your part leave it to that , anything else may mess up your friendship relationship. Good luck any way

If you value the friendship that you have with him, then take those words as compliments, and let it go at that. He does like you verry much. But the problem is that if you take it to the next level and you one day break up, chances are your friendship will never be the same. Quite ofren, they never survive. Good luck.

Thatgirl, I like the way you think, lol.

I would take it that I have a very caring friend. It does sound like YOU want more than a friendship with him. So I guess my question is how are you handling these comments?

Good Luck with things!

Guys that are a girls best friend are usually just trying to get into their pants. Be careful! I have been a guy all my 54 years of life. Trust me in this!

You sound "pretty" stuck on yourself. I'm not sure that I would want you for a friend. You aren't concern for your friend, just YOURSELF.

You sound like a child. Not a real friend
