In most cases the answer is yes. There are exceptions related to inexperience and ignorance. It is not impossible that you might think you did it when in reality you didn't. It is also not impossible that you could be too drunk to remember. It is also possible that you could have had sex so much that you cannot distinguish between specific times.
Mostly, yes. Don't be drunk. Stay off drugs. Be educated and comfortable with your actions. Follow something of a plan. Don't just let the heat of the moment determine your actions.

You only remember if you stay with that person.
If you're easy and you nail everything between now and your 21st birthday, it all will become meaningless. It will destroy your ability to have a MEANINGFUL relationship in the future: one in which you have so much to share and remember forever--unforgetable moments regardless if it sucked or not.

My first time sucked. The guy was an asshole too. But i think it's best to start with something shitty and then you appreciate the good guys that come into your life.
