I've got an 8-qt pot and a question on corn. How long do I boil corn if I put a bunch in the pot? If I did one or two I would boil it for about 5 - 8 minutes. How much longer do I boil it if I put in 6 or 8? I know trial and error would work here, but this is cheaper.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
PS. Can corn be steamed? How long?

My fave new way to do corn if i'm only doing one or two ears is to steam it in the microwave by putting it in a glass bowl with a dash of water and covering it an microwave for 6 mins, then let it sit for a couple while i finish up whatever else--stays hot for nearly infinity!! ooooo i just saw your title......you don't really need to boil it for any longer for more corn as long as you have a good rolling boil going on

I agree with ant. As long as there is room in the pot for the water to circulate around the ears you don't need to boild it any longer for 8 than for 2.
