What is your brother looking to do? Ninjitsu might be fun, but you can't go around cutting people open with swords or sneaking in and out of places. Ninjitsu is a silly art, HA HA HA.

Try Chinese Martial Arts. Chinese martial artist start off not being able to fight because it builds the foundation up a lot, which is tiring and boring. Until you have a strong foundation, you would learn the chinese styles and then soon become crazy good. For Karate, Tai Kun Do, kick boxing and those arts, they usally lose to Chinese martial artist because their foundation isn't strong. As long as a martial artist has good foundation, he/she would be very good. So tips to any art other than Chinese Kong fu, build your foundation and you will find a difference.
Foundations include strong horsestands, flexibility and physical strength. Also try to not get too puffed or than a lot of cool moves could not be used.

Sure he could study Ninjitsu, if he likes the class and the instructor who teaches it, but if theres other Disciplines in your area that have classes, he might wanna just try out a couple of trial classes and then make his decision about which discipline interests him most.
Any Martial Art is good to learn, it'll teach discipline, focus, strengthen the body, and respect. just to name a few of the thing s that Martial Arts can do.

Your brother sounds like a smart kid. I bet he just wants to be like his kitty friends. Able to run around undetected. Well I think you should tell him that ninjitsu is a good choice. And that he doesn't really need it , cause he is already a ninja. He should open his own dojo.

Stick to traditional styles. Avoid anything that ends in "jitsu", these are fighting styles, not true martial arts.

He should not seek a style, he should, instead, seek a good school.
Quality and frequency of training far outweigh the style.
Tell him to never pay for a rank test and never sign a contract.
