I keep a puppy pad in the house because no one is home most of the day. But when I come home, I find pee in more than one spot in the kitchen or in one or more of the bedrooms if we forget to close the doors. Sometimes he poops in other places too. But so far, never in the kitchen. Help!

Most of the time he pees on the pad, but after that he still pees everywhere else.

you have to remove the scent of the pee and poop use 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts water. blot the area 1st and then spray mix onto the spot, and blot again. it will dry with no smell and no stain if he doesnt smell where hes been before, thats half the battle. we put the paper towel used for the 1st blotting out in the yard where we want the dog to do his business also the poops can be placed where you want him to do that in your yard too. good luck

There are sprays you can buy to stop this.....I have found that the "Hartz Stay Off Training Aid" works really well and is inexpensive. It is meant to keep pets off furniture or away from a selected area, BUT I have found it works to stop them from going "potty" inside as well.
But they make sprays specific for not going to the bathroom in the house, just check any pet store.

Maybe see if a friend or family member could stop to let your dog out during the day to somewhat help this problem.

the metal baby gates from wally world work great i have one on both entrances to my living room. it helps to control the mess as its only in one room. also we got a doggy door from the hardware store. they love it, and so do i. they seem to not pee on the side of my couch as long as its open. crate training is the other option. they stay in the crate until you can take them out, after they pee give them an half our of play and then back in the crate, be sure to play w/ them for a job well done. they won't pee in an area they will sleep or eat in.good luck

I took my dod to one of those dog training centers. Its a bit expensive, but if they are a good center your dog wont pee any more.
