It may seem trivial, but it would have a huge impact on the earth. Earthworms serve many great functions. They help rotate the soil, they are food to birds. It would have impact on plants in nature.

hardly anything at all. their main purpose is to mix the soil, but there are so many bugs now it wouldn't matter one way or another what happened to them.
