Here's my situation:

I get stressed out, frustrated with many assets of my life, and instead of turning to God for guidence, I become too caught up in other little things, and things I know are wrong. It usually comes to a point where I feel I completly let go of the esscence of my spirit, and there's nothing to do but to pray for eveything to come back into place. I feel though, as if I just let myself move away, knowing I'm doing wrong, that I don't deserve any forgiveness. I find it so hard to find my center again with God in my life, as I feel that once I reach a certain point I don't deserve to have that greatness in my life again. Can anyone relate? How do you go about letting yourself be forgiven, and essentially, starting over?

yes there are times i feel the same as u, like even though u know it's wrong but u just let go of it and just kinda taking advantage of wut God did for us, well i just know that God will ALWAYS forgive you if u repent and know that theres a more bigger picture to life than those little things in life, pray for all the distractions in life to go away, just start over with a mind of knowing it's bad for you and to obey God is good ^_^

It is quite simple and quite difficult.
.
You must forgive yourself.
.
When we constantly pray or meditate for assistance and forgiveness from another.....we are really trying to gain the strength to find the forgiveness we are looking for - in ourselves.
.
God may forgive you but if you do not then forgive yourself you are in the same state as before. To forgive yourself you need to accept that life is not some high speed race to the finish line where within a short space of time and in the fastest speed you must get as much done as possible. Life is just not like that. You achieve what you can at the speed that suits you. So take a load off in that regard. Plus remember to look around you and see what the rest of humanity is up to. In other words take your sole focus off yourself for a good while. The longer you can do this the smaller and less significant will be the issues that previously plagued you will now seem.
.
I have found that the more time and devotion I give to my own personal problems the larger and more important they become. When my attention is taken away for a period of time I am able to achieve a more objective balance in this regard. What was so bothersome to me is no more than a daily itch needing a bit of a scratch. So try this and see how it works for you. If you believe in the benefits of prayer then do so before you sleep each night, but in your prayers remember others besides yourself as your first priority. Another benefit of this way of being is that you actually find the way to solve some of you dilemnas quite easily. It is almost as if the solution was there but you just could not see it before. You will be amazed that you had been so blind before when the answer was so simple and staring you in the face.
.
Good fortune to you my friend. Remember to like youself. Hey, if God likes you then there is absolutely no reason for YOU not to like yourself!!!!!

I agree with arewethereyet's answer.

I screw up every day in some way or another. I let little things get to me that are insignificant; I anger easily. Sometimes I jump to conclusions in my head about people/things or say rude remarks there too.

God knew and that's why He sent Jesus. He is here to save us; just have to ask. It's hard (like lump in your throat) when you really think about it and sincerely appreciate the true meaning - - forgiveness and everlasting life.

I think the very reason you feel like you want to run away from God is because you feel bad when you sin. The problem with this logic is that God is inside of you; He decided for you to be born; and knows you're a sinner. You can't run from yourself. When you feel bad that is the Holy Spirit reminding you. Be thankful that you feel and hear God and that Jesus is calling you. I have a feeling that if you did run from God (which is completely impossible) you'd still feel bad when you sin - regardless of your belief system or not; you'd be lying to yourself inside and risk becoming a hostile atheist to alleviate your "feeling bad" inside.

Pray to God, take your time to develop your relationship just as you would do any other. Believing in Jesus and knowing He died for your sins helps you cope with being human. Going to church and singing songs of praise with others likes you makes you feel like there hope and more to the ugly life of today's world. The entire world has problems, and the world keeps getting worse; but not everyone turns to our Creator, God, for support.

Good luck & God bless

Psalms 14:1-To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

John 14:6-Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 3:16-For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I've learned, over the past few months, several things:

1. God will forgive you, but you must forgive yourself. If you do not forgive yourself, you are rejecting God's forgiveness. You shouldn't hold those things against yourself, and remember that when God forgives you - He is essentially cleaning the slate for you.

2. A big part of repentence is saying, "I'm tired of screwing up, I'm going to stop." When you repent, you make it a matter of determination to say, "NO! I will not do this again!"

3. I am happy that you are praying for everything to come back together - that is what I did, but it will not happen if you do not make some efforts of your own to focus on God. It is the nature of the flesh to resist God's will, but now you are in Christ, and as part of our transformation into the likelihood of Christ, we must be crucified. We must crucify our flesh, we must die to ourselves. It will be public and shameful, but it is necessary for us to live in Christ, it is hard and painful, yet by the Spirit God will achieve this in you. You must discipline yourself - you must take charge, not your flesh, but you. It may help to set forth a sacrifice (stop watching TV, playing videogames, etc.) solely for the Lord, to dedicate your life to Him (any form of sacrifice is ok, as long as you make it a point to dedicate parts of your life to Him). This is what it means to take up our cross.

I hope this helped. Do not be bewildered, but be comforted, for your brothers are undergoing the same sufferings we are. I have been struggling with this same thing, but I have learned so much out of it. I pray that your relationship with God will bloom much more.

Some Christians "re devote" ,but let me tell you from experience its not that easy just to turn all the way around and be all "I m for god and god only YIPPEE!" and let go of everything else.
Well,Keep in mind that what I m about to say is my own personal beliefs and you dont have to take it seriously if you dont want to.

Are you saved (John 3:16/Romans road)
Ho much do you pray?
How much do you read your Bible all by yourself?
To really sum it up,you might need to have more "alone time " with God.Going to church and listening to others interpret the Bible does nothing for you if you dont spend time alone with God.

Yeah, I can relate with that and Probably almost everybody else who got Saved can too.
Don't go by your Feelings, go by what GOD Said, it is in the Bible, it is called the Word of GOD, and the Word NEVER Changes.
If we Confess our Sins, HE is Faithful and Just to Forgive our Sins etc. That will never Change and It Works everytime.
We deserve that Forgiveness, not because of us, but because WE Believe in Jesus. Jesus made Forgiveness Possible for US. Take Advantage of it Everytime you sin.
Jesus did it--------FOR US. We ARE Worthy, because of HIM.

May I be honest with you? In these last days, there is an incredible urgency to our getting right with God. Please, do not hesitate any longer. Find a good bible teaching church, stay in the word, learn of Him, pray for Him to keep you on a right path. You have no idea how much you need this protection in the days to come.

You've been getting faint impulses to do things differently for some time now,but a strong part of yourself resists doing the very things that would most benefit you.You know exactly what I'm talking about.Do what you know is the right thing.

Oh hon, I do it every single day. Every ..... single ..... day

You need to come to an understanding that God does not care about your sins, what Jesus has been trying to say through the Gospels, over and over again, is that very thing. He wants us to know that God in a sense is saying "yeah, I know you've sinned; come, walk with me anyway"

And that's the tough part huh .... walking with Him every day. There's no way to keep that closeness without submerging yourself in the Word. Read it every day; as the Bible says, write it on your doorpost and your forehead (no, not literally), think and talk about it constantly till it's an ingrained part of you.
