Echos are hard to find. They didn't sell many of them when they were produced, and because of their exceptional gas mileage, whatever become available today are bought very quickly. (hense the higher resale price)

It is probably worth that much money.

Keep in mind, although the base car was very inexpensive, it didn't come with anything. By the time you add what you and I might consider standard equipment, the price quickly rose to near Civic or Corolla level.

Sounds reasonable. The car has OUTSTANDING resale value for several reasons:

- Toyota 4 cyl. It'll run forever

- Toyota 4 cyl. 40 mpg

And that's pretty much it. there will always be a market for this car, and even if you are looking at it in the states where gas is only 2.20/gal right now, you KNOW what it CAN do in a VERY short amount of time.

echo's depreciate in value very fast. it was to the point where i live that you buy a brand new tacoma you got a brand new echo for a buck. for 8000, buy a used like 99-00 civic, or 97-98 accord... hondas have the best resell value behind only to bmw
