Around here it's 10 dogs in a package and 8 buns. Either way it's crazy.

I have found this fact to be a major irritation. You would have to buy 12 packages of buns and 9 packages of hot dogs in order for them to come out even. It's a ploy to get you to buy more of one or the other.

I actually have both here. I have seen some hot dogs and buns that come in the same numbers, but I've also seen ones that come in the odd numbers. everytime I see this, I think of that scene in Father of the Bride (I don't remember if it was 1 or 2) with Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. he is so funny!!!

but yeah, I agree...it's just a scam to make you buy more stuff.

Because the hot dog company and the bun company are in it together.... they have made an aggrement for eachother to boost sales. And at the end of the day they all get together and eat thier hot dogs on buns....

and call it a day.

Probably the same reason they dont sell just a half loaf of bread They want you to buy an extra package, but ahhhh , we always buy bread. Dont let them trick you into buying those extra buns, use the bread. If they dont sell big enough bun packages ,just use the extra bread that usually goes stale anyway.

I guess because at most cook outs the little ones (toddlers) eat the hot dogs without the bun.

It's all a big game to get you to buy more hot dogs or hot dog buns, what ever.

I don't know where you buy stuff at, but usually they both come in packs of 8. Try going to Wal-Mart instead of the local two bit corner store.
