There's this girl I met about a month and a half ago. We been out on a few dates, got the first kiss out of the way, holding hands in public, and all that lovy-dovy stuff. As of late though she hasn't been responding to my phone calls like she said she would. Actually, I haven't heard from her since Monday (today is Friday). So I sent her one final e-mail on Wednesday lettin her know that Ienjoy talking to her and hope she would talk to me if anything is going wrong in her life. After I sent the message I made the decison to just back off. I figure if she has any feelings for me she will respond. If not, there are plenty of other women out there with great qualities that I can get to know.

My question is, should I stick it out or just cut my losses?

P.S.- I live in NYC, she lives in DC. We met through a mutual friend. Could the fact that any relationship between us will be starting as a long-distance one be the reason why she is shying away from me?

You are probably handling this situation in the best way possible. You let her know that you enjoy her company and would like to be a part of her life without putting pressure on her. You have the ball in her court, its now her decision to make a move. There may be some concern on her part about a long distance relationship and it make take her awhile to decide.

I would continue to see other people, but I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

What you did was very smart.
I did the same thing.
This girl I like basically did the same thing to me.
We went out and had fun together.
Talked on the phone and now she seems a little distant.
She doesn't return calls, e-mails, and texts.
So, I sent her a message saying if you need anything call me, a few days ago.

Now I'm just waiting to see what she is going to do.

Don't cut your losses all at once.
If you really like her, wait for her but still have fun.
Take a step back and look at your other options.

If she does respond back then that's a good thing.

Good Luck, Man.

Well, you've done the right things so far. Maybe she isn't ready to handle a long distance relationship. If you don't hear from her, I would say just let it go and find someone else. Someone closer to you. Sometimes those long distance relationships just don't work out-especially if you met through a mutual friend. Sorry. Good luck.

A month and a half is a very short time to be thinking it's a stable long term relationship. There could be a million things that are keeping her from contacting you. Don't burn your bridges until you know for a fact there is no hope. Give it some time.

give her a little more time to respond to your email. If she doesnt respond, then cut your losses and move on. The distance very well could be the reason she is shying away from you. Good luck

Sounds like she's no longer interested. The distance could very well be a major factor. If she responds to your e-mai...great...see where it goes, but if not..move on and find happiness with someone a little closer to home.

Well, you've taken the right actions so far. There has to be some reciprocal action by her - otherwise she's probably not someone to keep pursuing. I mean would you want to be more serious or marry someone who you're always chasing but doesn't respond in kind? You don't have to cut your losses - the loss is hers!

It could be... or it could be that something has come up... with her and she will let you know, later...

However, DON'T get all mad if she doesn't respond.... it doesn't mean that YOU did anything wrong and there ARE lots of women out there..........

so... just be a MAN and (a decent one) at least, and if you don't hear back..........just move on...

**I've got one right here on Yahoo that can't seem to do that... and "that" is "simply being mature enough to accept life"...

Long distance is very hard on a relationship, and she probably sees that. If I were you, I'd start to move on because it seems like that's what she's trying to do. (Besides, do you really want to sit and whine about a girl who won't even give you a good explanation as to why she's shying away?)

I wouldn't be too upset if she doesn't respond back to you. It has only been a month and a half long "relationship" and nothing was set in stone. I'd move on.
