compared to Mexico its because of American Children spend 10 times more watching tv and playing agressive video games than the normal child does in Mexico?

Just think about this, the average SuperBowl commercial costs about 2.5 million dollars for 30 sec. These HUGE companies are in the business of making money ofcourse, so therefore they know they are going to duplicate this 2.5 Million to way more. Why? Because they know that ADVERTISING works. Children watching TV all day long and playing agressive video games is the same thing. It takes away the sensitivity in childrens beings and as a result they want to go out there to doi it themselves like they do in video games and movies.Columbine, and other hurrendous acts of violence like Amish incident are agreat example.

Do you believe that thats the reason why things like this dont happen in Mexico's schools?

Ruby, just check tour local news about the Amish incident and Colombine. And oh, next time you eat those Doritos, just remeber the power of advertising. Please, Im not trying to be rude, but if you have kids, keep them away from those video games for EVERYONES sake.

Ruby, posting OBVIOUS Anti-Mexican reviews is not going to get you anywhere. Nowhere did I read ANYTHING about this topic i asked about. Also, next time get a credible review instead of just personal biased points of views. If you want to see the REAL FACE OF AN ALL AMERICAN CRIMINAL THAT GOES WITHOUT BEING REPORTED HERE YOU GO:

Sorry to tell you this Mendi8a but yes TV and videogames do play a huge role on children. Youll see that whenever you have children. Or ist it ok to give your kids a Scarface video game for their 1st b-day present?

Good point Alberto, but let me add that I think the extremist weather in this country, and also the education and the loving families that us Mexicans come from could be reasons too don't you think?

As an educator I can say we don't know why it is getting so bad these days. I had video games as a child, MTV and violent movies...but is is worse now. American culture glorifies violence, but many countries glorify anything "American". I would assume most youngsters in Mexico have video games and watch too much t.v. as well, but there is almost always an adult home to supervise. In the US that is not the case. Maybe it's due to a lack of parental supervision on top of all the other reasons.

I agree with Angela R. i also wonder how the punishment for such crimes works in Mexico. are they harsher sentences, do they not tolerate the smallest infraction? it has been proven that in other countries that have stricter laws and harsher penalties also have less crime.(kind of a bad time to ask this question, when the violence against teachers and police officers is being reported for their teachers strike isn't it?)

No, we cant generalize that way. Music and video games do not make you a psychopath! Also there are serial rapists and killers in Mexico too, sadly no place is exempt from lunatics. Oh...and there are video games in Mexico too...My hubbys cousin had the PS2 before most people here!

I blame the teachers, I'm a teacher and all my friends are teachers. We joke about this often, in public we blame the parents, but when were together we take credit. After all who taught the stupid parents just 15 years before? Us.

I think a lot has to do with violence on TV....It desensitizes children, seeing blood and gore...Video games are especially violent....Also, Mexico does not allow its people to bare arms....So fewer people have access to guns, here you can get them everywhere, and many parents have guns in their homes....Its really sad and yes I agree with you about the violence...There has definitely has been studies on it, I just don't have them in front of me....

Show me where you found those statistics.

You can't compare reported crimes in the USA to Mexico when Mexico only reports about 20 out of 100. You don't know how many are committed by teens or pre-teens there.

"Of every 100 crimes in Mexico, it is estimated that only 20 or so are reported. In Oaxaca, only four or five of those 20 are actually investigated, Mr Moreno says, a figure broadly representative of the country as a whole. Furthermore, of the investigations that are opened, more than three-quarters are never resolved...."
You also can't generalize. Of all the kids in the USA who play 'video games' it's ridiculous to assume their playing video games is the reason those kids did the killings.

I suppose you meant 'inhumane'. How can you justify the inhumane way Mexico allows little girls to be sexually used at the age of 12? That is the legal age of consent there. Who made that 'inhumane'LAW? I bet it wasn't a woman! Mexico ALLOWS that kind of abuse. Because 'a few bad kids' have killed does not mean we condone that and allow it to continue here in the USA. Absolutely NOT! We don't have a LAW allowing them to continue to kill! If they haven't committed suicide, they are imprsisoned! So who now is "inhumane"?

There are plenty of ILLEGAL invaders in the USA that commit inhumane acts on our citizens including our children

It is hard to fathom how anyone could bury an axe in the head of an innocent nine-year-old boy, but that was the unimaginable fate of Jordin Paulder of Fulton County, Georgia, on June 5. The killer was "Honduran native" Santos Benigno Cabrera Borjas.

We "DEMAND" OUR BORDERS BE CLOSED TO STOP THE FLOW OF ILLEGAL PEOPLE ENTERING OUR COUNTRY TO ABUSE OUR FAMILIES AND OUR LAWS. WE DESERVE TO BE PROTECTED FROM CRIMINALS USING THAT BORDER TO ESCAPE PROSECUTION FOR CRIMES IN THEIR COUNTRIES. WE ARE BEING DENIED OUR CONTITUTIONAL RIGHT OF PROTECTION FROM INVASION WHEN THAT BORDER AND THE BORDER WITH CANADA ARE NOT CONTROLLED. "OUR" FAMILIES COME 1ST!
