I see nothing about this thats so bad, or a "step downt he road to an ever present and all domineering state"

did you know with patriot act now, that to start a bank account, you have to be approved by a system that practically all banks use, and if there is a mark on that system, you simply can't get a bank account, and cannot do anything about it.

a more effective and standardized ID card? c'mon.

really... from what I'm reading on this idea its nothing more than a nationally standardized and technologically current ID card(drivers liscense)

In the US, we already have a National ID Card, it's called our Social Security Number.

I don't think it will make much of a difference. It will be introduced in much the same way Social Security was. People refused that when it first started, afraid it meant that the Federal Gov't was taking over every aspect of our lives. Which it didn't, it just took away our retirement and gave the Gov't a little more money to play around with. (Congress does not pay into Social Security, but gets Social Security checks when they retire... We are paying for it).

What has the ID card got to do with religion? Why mention that as a division of society?

Only those with something to hide are afraid of a National ID Card. Bring it on, that's what i say. I've had one as a member of the UK Armed Forces for many years without any problems...what's all the fuss? Have you got something to hide?

Are you kidding? A national ID card isn't a step toward totalitarianism; it's exactly the opposite! It's an essential tool to protect our national integrity. It will do a heck of a lot more to safeguard and preserve our freedoms than it will to diminish them. I'm a Bible-believing Christian and an American (in that order), and I heartily welcome the national ID card.

Here in Argentina, we have it, and it isn't used as a form of domination. It all depends on how it's used.

Besides, I don't think the FBI needs the ID Card to dominate you...

If you don't want it to happen, stand up for yourselves. You sit in your chairs watching CNN then complain about everything. Try doing something as a nation.
