the age of the average new yorker today is not figured in history's recordings as this today being the golden age. more like all most dark ages now, those(new yorkers) who were told not to have children are gone and these are the wasn't supposed to be,the living are now in the age of "guilt complexes" what a stress. history will say that when the average person in new york was alive it wasn't today believe me, those days are long gone, these people are far superior to average and this is the age of internet minimum, average age

Interesting question. Brought me back to the good old geography days. I'm not sure if you meant NY state or city, but I was able to find data for both.

All this data is from the US Census Bureau, incidentally.

Median age:
NY State (2000) - 35.9
NY State (2000) - 37.5
NY City (2000) - 34.2
NY City (2005) - 35.8

Looks like New Yorkers are getting older.
