Okay, About five years back I was involved in a short lived but WONDERFUL long distance relationship. For the record, it was the best relationship I have been in to date. Due to a breakdown in communications (my roomate not paying the phone bill, and his joining the military) we lost contact and the relationship ended. We NEVER got the chance to talk about it. As far as he is concerned I just didn't call him anymore. I have recently found contact information for this guy and have just found out that one of my old classmates works along side him everyday. They have told me that they believe he is single (much to my suprise). Over the time that has passed I haven't been able to get the thought of "what would of been" out of my mind. I am wondering, should I let the past stay in the past or should I follow my heart and explain to him what happened, and tell him that I would love to get to know him all over again and see where it leads?

Well you need closure or a continuation. What do you want out of the relationship? If he is worth persuing, than take a chance on it. But long distance relationships are hard.... But I wouldn't get "high hopes", but I would take a chance, but if it doesn't work out, take it as a learning experience. Remember, you only live once. Do what your heart tells you but if you make a decision you gotta deal with the outcome however the chips fall.

No, don't go back. Screaming and arguing is no way to go through life. Find a new man that gives you butterflies and start an adventure with him.

Most definetly you should give him a call and explain what happened. He may want the same thing that you want. If not you can always have another friend

I say "go for it"... You will never know unless you try...but a lot of time has passed and if he acts the least bit disinterested, don't push the issue.... go slow and if it's meant to be, it will still be there....if not, let it go and get on with your life.....

The problem is that he will never believe you. It doesn't like you even tried to tell him. This sounds like more headache than it's worth.
