The Bible identifies two groups of people.
The first group referred to by Jesus as "little flock"(luke 12:32)These are the faithful men and women who are taken from the earth to rule as kings and priests with Christ in heaven.(Rev.14:1-4)The ingathering of these anointed ones began in the upper room in Jerusalem at Pentecost 33CE where 120 were anointed with Holy Spirit.
The second group is referred to "Other sheep" and "great crowd" (John10:16;Rev.7:9).These are the ones who by proving faithful and obedient to Jehovah will have the opportunity to reside on the earth forever.
(Ps.37:9-11,29;Pr.2:21)
The Bible does not teach that all good people go to heaven. The earth was created for man to reside on.

Not true. The JW's invented that one. Heaven has plenty of room for everyone
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
We won't necessarily be staying in heaven to live, we are to be coming back to earth later on..
The only two places that 144,000 people are mentioned in the whole bible is in revelation. They are 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel and they are Jews and males and virgins and they preach the gospel during the great tribulation. They may even be alive in Israel at this moment. Nothing to do at all with who enters heaven or not..

You've been talking to Jehovah's Witnesses, haven't you?
No, they have interpreted the scripture (that claims 144,000 Jews in the tribulation time will be converted to Christianity and will teach from the scriptures as Paul did in the New Testament during the time of the tribulation) to mean only 144,000 total will enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Please find a legitimate church like Baptists or Assembly of God. Reject the teachings of cults which change, add, or subtract from the Bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only 144,000 Jehovah's Witnessess will go to Heaven. False. The 144,000 are the Jewish Evangelists in the Tribulation period.

If it is I ain't going .It would smell like a locker room!
No,seriously.That's Jehovah Witless junk.
The 144,000 will be 12,000 Jews from each of the 12 tribes of Israel, who, after the Church is "Raptured",realize the truth and become "super preachers" and many more Jews will come to Christ in that 7 yr. period. The Antichrist will finally get these guys and execute them. They go straight to the throne room of God.Of course there are women, don't let the JWs and Mormons fool you.

first of all, it's men and women. And when all of the followers are lifted up into heaven, out of those left behind, only 144,000 will be saved as well. But that's out of those who didn't accept Christ before the rest were lifted up. That means a whole bunch of people are saved.

Sara,
No, I don't get that out of the Bible that I read! lol
I don't even think that the Jehovah's Witnesses go that far! Taht is, 144,000 men only in heaven club!
New Jerusalem is supposed to be where we spend eternity, and it will be 1400 x 1400 x 1400 miles in size! I think that 144,000 would get lost in there! lol

Considering there lived over a trillion people from the beginning, there's a very low chance anyone will go to heaven. That does not sound like the loving God that I believe in. And God made man and woman in God's likeness.

Won't the elect be living on the New Earth? If 12,000 Jews from each of the 12 tribes of Israel get accomodations in heaven and everyone else lives on a renewed Earth and Jesus and God themselves are the temple of a renewed Jerusalem (that descends to Earth from heaven), wouldn't Christians want to be there instead of heaven?
