You believe other historical facts such as when Cleopatra died and the fall of Jerusalem in AD70 etc....but you can't accept Jesus's historical account? HYPOCRITE!

Golly aren't you Mr.Tolerant? I notice that every question you have asked concerns Islam. You say you are a former Muslim but are now an atheist. Your questions don't make your claim about being an atheist sound too convincing.

To answer your question about why religious people never learn reason........

Apparently you used some common sense when you decided to abandon Islam and become a former Muslim. So you have already invalidated your own question.

And your belief that the world is no longer inhabited people who believe in magic or superstition? Clearly you have never attended any Native American medical, fertility or shaman ceremonies. Have you ever been to some or the countries in Central America where they practice Sangria? Or even in the "back woods" of Kentucky or West Virgina...many superstitious people. And you must have heard of Voodoo and Voodoo dolls.

Simply because you demonstrated a degree of common sense by quiting a religion many people consider to have barbaric practices (and I lived in the middle-East for 2 years and was disgusted with the way Muslims treated their women...like cattle or property) in no way supports your contention that people with religious convictions lack common sense.

I would proffer that people like you...intolerant of others beliefs, your supposition (since you did not provide any evidence) that religious people lack common sense and never learn to reason and that ALL religions are based on myths...are devoid of common sense, are incapable of reasoning and your cognative abilities are highly suspect.

If you are truly a former Muslim, and were actually raised in a Muslim family, you would never have this much hatred not only to Islam, but to any other religion or group of people...

And having done college as you claim (and I seriously doubt this), you would have known that religion is a theory, a belief system, just like the evolution theory you so love... and as an academic person, you would've been trained to respect (you don't have to accept, but respect) other belief systems...

Oh, and if you have the tiniest bit of courage, voice out your sick opinions in public.... but no you wouldn't, because people like you find this forum a much safer place to let out their sick blind hatred...

To an extent your right. People have a need to have some kind of answers when S*** happens. Hence it's "God" (or fill in the blank) who is responsible.
I believe religion is still relivant due to that fact that is does give people comfort in difficult times.
Then again I'm not a big fan of organized religion. I have a brain, I can read a book for myself and come to my own conclusions as to what it says.

It's true. The so-called religious texts are merely rewritten oral tradition with a slant meant to encourage their particular view. Superstition and Magic are still alive though.

The majority of people cannot grasp the scope of the universe we live in. They need the reassurance a "god" provides. The randomness inherent in the universe scares them. If things happen for a reason, "God created Man", it's much easier to accept.

You suggested it your self - we could continually continually tutor some thing until now we've faith it. I hate to burst your bubble, yet being no longer able to tutor god does not exist isn't info of god's existence. you're thoroughly unjustified in believing in god. As for the super bang, as an occasion - i do no longer "have faith" in the super bang. As an intellectually honest man or woman who is familiar with how technology particularly works, I settle for the super bang because of the fact the superb clarification that we at the instant have for the origins of the universe. that doesn't comprise a declare of absolute actuality - the bags of "it may be shown incorrect the next day" is often some thing that I settle for. yet, the super bang being shown incorrect could recommend technology could flow closer to the genuine certainty, in spite of which may be... you get it? Its approximately following the info anyplace it may lead, somewhat than greatest the info to the conclusions you like the superb. We call mythological figures "myths" exceptionally because of the fact they only exist in books, and might't be verified somewhat. that's what concerns - what you may show somewhat. And evolution, by using ways, is a actuality. era. this isn't any longer up for communicate anymore. this is a bloody actuality. You no longer liking it does not replace that.

Agrressive parental programming starting at a young age in our childhood. Almost no one has the strength or intelligence to resist it.

The pope said give me your children for the first 5 years and we will have them for life.
